  • Excerpt: Purchased this for my elderly uncles, had light use of it for about 14 months then it died. Very much in keeping with other Epson products - most hype, poor lifespan. Keep clear - get a better make.

Epson Perfection 2580 Photo

  • Excerpt: The scanner was bought as a replacement for a five year old "best buy" scanner which although top notch for its time, was beginning to look rather puny in comparison to the new kids on the block. I paid £84 in a sale although the RRP was £94. It's a fairly handsome looking beast and the silver and grey colour scheme which now seems to be the mode blends well with my existing PC equipment.
  • Pros: Excellent Scan Quality, Rapid Results .
  • Cons: Very Poor Reference Guide, Noisy, No Power Switch,  edges of Scan Bed Missed From Scan

  • Excerpt: I bought this scanner to convert our slides into a digital format. It was easy to setup, and worked straight away without any major problems. It was bought for approximately £85 from ebuyer. I then tried to buy the optional 24 photo auto feeder as advertised in the product information. At the time of writing, it does not actually exist. Having had no luck at any shops (online or otherwise), I phoned the Epson helpline: They hadn't heard of it either.
  • Pros: Scans documents, slides & negatives
  • Cons: poor manual/help files .  Epson helpline unhelpful .

  • Cons: Haltbarkeit
