Summary: I've scanned a ton of photos already. I put them in the feeder and it actually does what it's supposed to! No problems yet. I have Win Vista so I had to download the update - but worked great. I was really hesitant to buy this cuz of the price, but it's great and definately worth it.
Summary: I've upgraded over the years and have always bought Epson. I helped folks out with Canon and HP scanners and always come away feeling the Epson was a faster and more user friendly device for less money.
Summary: The purpose of buying this product for me was to take advantage of the multi photo scanning ability - in particular I was focused on the photo feeder mechanism which most reviewers said worked pretty well. You must, of course, make sure the photos are clean and the feeder will get tripped up if the photos are bent at all, but this is pretty par for the course as far as feeders go. The feeder works pretty well.
Summary: I purchased this scanner to scan in to our computer all of the photos that we have taken through the years. It worked wonderfully! The ability to place a deck of pictures into the feeder and have them processed automatically saved me hours and hours of time. Great product for this use!
Summary: This is my first amazon review, but i felt compelled to write something as Epson has outdone itself. I've owned a 1200u epson for many years and it's been a workhorse, so when i saw this scanner specially designed for photos i decided to try it out. I've got 1000+ photos to scan so manually scanning would have taken me a hundred years.
Summary: This machine is great. I've been SLOWLY scanning my old photos for years now. It is a tedious boring project that is no fun at all. Until I got this item, being able to put items of 4X6 or smaller in groups of 24 prints at a time is so great. It changed the slow tedious project into a smooth and quick process!! The scans are great and I can now finally finish my project in a fraction of the time!!
Summary: I managed to find one of these locally. I did one project the first day with it that involved scanning about 100 4x6 photos. It worked like a dream. This task would have taken hours and hours with my old scanner (one at a time, or manually cropping 3 photos scanned at once), but took only minutes of actual attentive time at the scanner. I had no jams at all. The software set up very easily. The quality of the scans was excellent.
