Summary: Having had a 2450 before and desiring a replacement for this obsolete model, I was perfectly satisfied with this one. I have used it extensively and it continues to work as it should. I'd recommend this seller.
Summary: How about that! I recently found this scanner at a thrift store and I am very pleased to say that it is singing in tandem with my 4 year old macbook pro, running on 10.5.8. I checked the epson site to make sure there was a driver for it and also found a link for users who are running LION!
Summary: Shortly after purchasing the unit, I discovered something that looks like fog on the inside of the glass on the top fourth or so. Fortunately, it doesn't seem to affect image quality. I checked again tonight for this review and I don't see any (this is a first) so it must be related to the weather.
Summary: Don't buy this scanner. I'm a light user, and this scanner failed after 18 months. The software was okay, the hardware quit working after the warranty expired, and the scanner unit needs to be replaced by a repair center. It's so costly, the repair is not worth it.
Summary: Why am I writing a review for a scanner that has been out of production for 2 years? Because it's so darn good! I've had mine since January 2002 and it has performed without a hitch. I have upgraded to Mac OSX since I bought this and was really disappointed Epson did not make a driver for it.
Summary: Buyer Beware. I bought two of these scanners and both were defective. The first one had a large piece of plastic shaving under the scanning glass. The second one did not operate as the scanning light did not illuminate and I had to return that one too.
Summary: I don't know about other customers, but my 2450 is worthless to me. It looked good and got good reviews and for my interest in photography I thought this was the answer to my needs. I assumed that it really would work with windows XP. That's questionable.
Summary: I am a Mac OSX and an Epson fanatic. I was, however very disappointed when I got my 2450 with a USB 2.0 cable and outdated software for Mac OSX. I had to run in OS 9.1 or not at all. Or so I thought.
Summary: I bought this scanner a few days ago, and was surprised by the quality of the scans. I took some 4 x 6 photos(taken with a Canon A-1 from approx a mile away) and scanned them at 1200 dpi. Be ready for some large files. They were about 75 meg for each photo.
