Disappointed! I got my lesson about e-bay products (especially used once)
3 March 2012
Summary: This scanner was faulty. I connected to my laptop (in order to install it) and as a result, it caused a serious problem to laptop software. I through it away since the purchase price was only 1 pound (+ postage0, but it left me a bitterness and I now start thinking seriously whether I use E-bay to purchase goods.
Summary: I bought an epson scanner, I started it and it didn't work. I didn't bother to send it back as it was pretty cheap to buy twenty - two dollars, so , I went to fry's and bought a more modern one and its great, a hewit packard scanner. Jim ps. you get what you pay for, I guess.
Summary: Very impressed with quality of this scanner. Very clear and sharp images. It has a basic window to use on screen and a professional window to use on screen. The pro screen is a little hard to use and understand, but I found the basic screen to meet all my needs so far. I never found it necessary to use the buttons on the unit itself so I don't really know why they are there????
Summary: I needed a flat bed scanner which would handle negatives larger than 35mm. While this scanner looked like it was in good condition, it never worked. However,, I had purchased it at a very low price, and it would have cost more in postage to return it, so I will just end up discarding it.
Summary: This was my first scanner and I sure did enjoy having it. However, I am operating it in the Windows Vista in an odd way. I may not be installing a driver right, but I am scanning in the Vista, just in a jackleg way. This scanner does not do PDFs, which is the reason I need to upgrade. Mostly what I did was scan photos, nice clear, colorful. I like the steps it took to get a simple photo scanned. The scanner feature is the EPSON Smart Panel.
Summary: I ran across this while looking up driver updates. I have owned this scanner since it first became available. I actually ordered the 1200 photo but the order came in as a new model - the 1250 photo. Needless to say, that was nearly 8 years ago! The scanner is a great model. Its specs are lower than the newest ones out there but they meet the need for most home use even in 2009. The ONLY negative I have is that it is slow.
Summary: When you walk into the computer store and look at the displays, and sales literature, are you left as confused as I am? Reading reviews is the same. Some 5 stars and some P'off people. It seems as if doing your homework only makes you feel good when you initially and "confidently" plunk down your money. When you get home and plug it in, your homework may or may not pay off. Reminds me of the Cabela's catalog for hunters and fishermen.
