0 interface for a device that can generate this much data is painful. The USB 3

Philip Greenspun, Amazon
17 March 2015
  • Summary: The scanner hardware seems solid. A USB 2.0 interface for a device that can generate this much data is painful. The USB 3.0 standard was completed in 2008. The Epson software is not at all smart about image size.

I can highly recommend it to any professional illustrator, artist, production person or anyone interested in top quality...

Great scanner for artist or photographer

yats, Amazon
11 February 2014
  • Summary: Great scanner, arrived on time. I like the Epson software over the SilverFast Ai IT8. The Epson software does a better job of capturing the original art print or photos.

immac, shopping.com

  • Summary: Twenty years ago this product would have been a "miracle." What I like best now is its proven reliability.
  • Pros: Reliability, versatility, and exceptional quality of scanned copies.
  • Cons: Figuring it all out.

DIFFICULT TO USE AND NOT DEPENDABLE

specklepilot, shopping.com
19 November 2005
  • Excerpt: This can produce good scans eventually, but the controls are awful, and so are the instructions, and just recently mine has developed a tendency to quit just as it completes a scan. This is with Mac OS 10.4.3. Epson support never answer the phone!
  • Pros: Fairly good scans - once you ploughed through the tortuous controls
  • Cons: Controls, instructions and software crashes
