Summary: The scanner hardware seems solid. A USB 2.0 interface for a device that can generate this much data is painful. The USB 3.0 standard was completed in 2008. The Epson software is not at all smart about image size.
Summary: Best Pro scanner on the market. I've been using it daily for almost a year now. Large size scanner with huge scanning area, high quality, heavy duty machine. Pro-level software. I can highly recommend it to any professional illustrator, artist, production person or anyone interested in top quality...
Excerpt: This can produce good scans eventually, but the controls are awful, and so are the instructions, and just recently mine has developed a tendency to quit just as it completes a scan. This is with Mac OS 10.4.3. Epson support never answer the phone!
Pros: Fairly good scans - once you ploughed through the tortuous controls
