Excerpt: If the software were better, this would be 5 stars. The scanner itself is quick, and it does OCR while it scans, so you don't have to wait for OCR to finish. The software, however, is weak. You can't crop after scanning, and if a page double feeds, you have to re-scan, which puts the new page all the way at the end of the document.
Pros: Easy To Transport, Easy To Use, Good Resolution, Scans Accurately, Scans Quickly
Excerpt: Two sided, automatic document feeder, neat option to scan without installing any software were some of the key features that I found set this scanner apart from other. I was looking for one in the ninety nine dallar range, but decided to bump it up fifty to get a name brand. Got one for my wife and daughter both in the financial industry and needed a scanner. After installing and testing I believe I made a good choice.
Pros: Easy To Use, Good Resolution, Scans Accurately, Scans Quickly
Excerpt: I like it. Much faster than I expected. What I did not like were the limited features of the included software. Scanning 20 pages at a clip my available choices were to save it as a PDF file or JPEG. PDF works great except that essentially it is considered one large file rather than 20 seperate as I would prefer. I need the option of changing the order or inserting something in the middle later on.
Summary: Being that I am an accountant that has a mobile office (RV motorhome) that I use when I go to my clients for both tax appointments as well as year end and consulting appointments. Sure enough, the client will have some source documents that will need to be scanned. In the past, I was using my iPhone with a scanning app but found that this was quite time consuming. I also was using a simple single page USB scanner from Brother which worked well but single sheet only.
Summary: This scanner performs really well, once you put a little effort into it. First off, what I was searching for was Evernote integration. This product claimed to deliver that but it was a little unclear as to how to make it work and there is not much information available about this process either. If you are interested in Evernote and have a Mac, then this review should help you. This is what was not explained in any documentation that I could find.
Summary: I've owned several scanners including the snapscan. This scanner has been the best so far in that it is portable and USB SW capable meaning that it can work without installing SW for basic scanning. The business card functionality is not top notch but I didnt buy it for that and consider that a bonus. It does work, but not as accurate as I would have liked it to.
