Summary: Bought this scanner to use with my Mac at home so I wouldn't have to always bring my personal documents to my small business office to use the scanner there. I use both my scanners using Evernote so that I have access to all of my documents(via the web, smart phone, laptop, etc) no matter where I scan them. This scanner was easy to setup, has a really small footprint, and has settings built into the Canon software to use with Evernote.
Summary: Product works exactly as advertised - quick with full duplex scanning. Nice, small footprint. I'm not big on the bundled Canon software so I picked up PDFScanner off the Mac App Store. It would be a 5 star rating, except Canon hasn't updated their scanning driver for Mac OS X Lion so PDFScanner's paper detection doesn't work correctly. Hopefully they'll update the driver soon.
Summary: This has been a nice addition to my desktop for clearing up the clutter. It has a nice small foot print that takes up little space. It's a document fed scanner and can handle multiple sizes and shapes with ease. It has an auto-straightening feature that works like a charm, so you don't need to worry about feeding the scanner with perfectly straight documents.
Summary: Pros: software is Mac/Snow Leopard compatible, convenient size, fast post-scan OCR processing Cons: no document bin, grabs multiple pages a little too often. I'm assuming you're looking at this product because it's Mac compatible, relatively portable, rates fast, and looks cool so I won't say much about that, except for the scan speed.
