Summary: been using for a month and its a great scanner. my first time buying/using a scanner and this thing is easy/simple enough to use for i feel anyone. i am not an egg head or computer geek by any means the software is simple and really easy to use. Scanner it self is great. I'm scanning everything from legal document (8.5"-14") to tiny receipts and carbon copies.
Excerpt: We use these scanners in 30 locations. Every night we scan from 2000 to 3000 images and the scanner performs admirably. We run a lot of different documents with barcodes in different locations and the scanner picks up 95% of the barcodes. The weakest point is the top flip tray. It is a one piece plastic tray with two small plastic pins that fit on the scanner. I want to say that more than half are broken. I replaced the tray multiple times.
Pros: Accurate Color, Easy To Set Up, Good Resolution
Summary: For medium to large jobs, this scanner fits the bill. It senses two sided papers and automatically adjusts to scan both sides. The software is easy to use and can also be accessed through other pdf programs. For lighter scanning needs, I also purchased the Canon imageFORMULA DR-M160 Office Document Scanner.
Summary: My office purchased this unit 5/25/13, it's now 8/6/13 and we're on unit #4 - which was also bad out of the box, so we'll be receiving our 5th unit tomorrow. Canon support is less than helpful, sending refurbished replacements with which we have the same issue every time. I am putting my foot down and hoping like heck to get a new replacement unit the next time we have issues, most likely in a couple days.
Excerpt: Coupled with Canon's great support this product is a winner in terms of speed, versatility and length of life. I took one star off because I think a scanner of this caliber ought to be able to handle more sheets on the input tray
Pros: Easy To Set Up, Excellent Software, Good Bit Depth, Good Resolution
Summary: For $2,300 we got a device that the rollers wore out in 9 months. But then I am finding this level of quality in all Canon products from digital cameras, pricture printers like the Pixma 9500 and on and on. Don't buy this or you will regret it.
It's reliable & FAST... if you understand how the ppm is calculated and have a fast computer w/lots of RAM

Summary: Vocabulary per manufacturers: A "page" means a single side of paper. "Image" means both sides of the paper *** When I use the word "PAGE" in this review, I'm talking about the BACK and FRONT of a 8.5" x 11" thru Legal size pieces of paper! I use this scanner primarily to scan large full color, blk/wht, and grey scale print jobs (500 - 2,500 pages at 600dpi, at a sitting) and have been working with this scanner for over 3 years.
