Summary: Pro: 1. Very fast -- especially in black and white up to 300 dpi. 2. Scans 2-sided pages a fast as single-sided, essentially doubling the number of images per minute it can scan. 3. Compact -- doesn't use up too much space on my desk. 4. Reliable and durable.
Pros: This scanner works very well. Document feeding is fast and I have had no difficulties with feeder malfunction except in rare situations when I put documents in that are in very, very bad shape as an experiment. Have scanned insurance cards and stacks of documents without a hitch. Highly recommend...
Cons: The only con is I think the scanner is overpriced by about $200, listing at $900 and selling here for $750. Although you are very happy with the scanner, you have a sense that you paid too much for it. I would be happy with closer to $400. I have not yet purchase the flat bed, but that adds furth...
Summary: This is the second Canon scanner we have purchased. The compact size and sheet feeding is very convenient for scanning multiple documents at a work station. The only drawback is a few misfeeds likely due to having to pull documents into the scanner from the desktip rather than vertically.
Summary: for small to medium volume this will work very well and fast. If you think of something that will last very long, then there is probably stronger models somewhere.
Pros: Scan very well, low maintenance (only some roller at each ±100 000pages depending of paper quality (dust or other)). had DR 3580CII that is a bigger one and users prefered this smaller version.
Cons: don't like stample! it sratch the glass and hard to find replacement for that. We used them for imaging system and I got 2 units that ended with part of the sheet not showing anymore. I replace the scan "optical eye" with another one that was ok on another scan but same problem so I guess problem...
aging reasonably well...after four units, wouldn't mind a successor

Summary: I bought one of these in late 2006 while shifting my office (15 employees) in a paper-less direction. That unit works well, and after 10-200 pages per day, it's still churning along (occasionally misfires, but it's still more reliable than our relatively new HP 7580 multifunction unit).
Summary: Works great with Adobe Acrobat 8 pro. I just wish I could feed more than 50 pages at a time, but it's still better than what I was doing...
Pros: This thing is quick. I did a 25 page document on a flatbed, and decided to get one of these based on the reviews. Works like a charm out of the box. Has a small footprint.
Cons: I had a problem with the rollers getting out of line and feeding pages through crooked. I just had to push them back in place-- took 2 minutes. If it weren't for that it would have gotten five stars.
