Unfortunately, the scanner was broken when it arrived.

Summary: I suppose it's always a good idea to ensure that a product is coming from a trusted seller. This scanner unfortunately arrived broken with the scanning mechanism jammed. Also, if you're purchasing this scanner, know that the software is not compatible with the newer versions of Windows.
Summary: Drivers are only available for Windows XP, does work easily with Linux, but the scan comes in with really poor contrast (or at least there is a whole vertical area of the scan that comes in brighter than the rest). Only good part is not needing a separate power cord.
Summary: This is a cheap, lightweight, portable scanner. This scanner scans at a slower speed than other scanners. Also it only scans a maximum of 8.5x11. Get a difference scanner if you want to scan legal size papers. However, this scanner cuts off less than other scanners on the edges. Other scanners have higher quality images, but if you just need a general scanner for small pages this one is a good deal. It conveniently has a USB connection for data and power.
This scanner does a nice job. works with windows 7 which is why i bought it

Summary: I saw other reviews and they were favorable.. It works well with windows 7 which is why i bought it as my other scanners couldn't make the transition. There is really no bundled software which is ok now that office programs are more advanced. I do like the fact that it does not require any transformer.. It works well with adobe acrobat and ms word.. I also like the fact that it is mostly the cheapest scanner out there..
Summary: This purchase will go down in history as the one that taught me to always check the dates of the reviews. I bought it in 2013 cause it was cheap. But had to purchase VueScan as well so that I could even use it! The driver can't be installed on any computers beyond Mac OS 9. whoops! It works for me now, but it's slow and reminds me of being a kid waiting for my mom's scanner to do something. Woot.
Summary: I have two of these on two different computers. It's small, light, runs power through the USB cable (no wall wort). The Canon Scangear software is user friendly. I use Scangear with Irfanview, which is free. If you need a scanner that has a small footprint, this is it. If you hate wall worts, this is the scanner you want.
Summary: I purchased it from a military post exchange AAFES store in Germany in December 2000. Now it is December 2010. I thought I should review this legacy product on Amazon, even though I did not buy it from here. It has been 10 long years and this scanner is still function as it did when it was new. It survived my move from overseas back to US and several change of station moves. Operation is simple.
Summary: I bought this scanner in December 2000, so almost 10 years ago! It is flat and USB powered, so means you can take it with your laptop on the go. It is fast enough and quality is good enough too. Once you know on OS/X you have to install VueScan, this is just great! 10 years old and still running great: maybe my best value for money in my computer life!
Summary: This is an easy to use, lightweight flatbed scanner. It really is plug and play and the scans are fast and of high quality. No power supply to mess with either- it powers from the USB port. I recommend it.
