Worked as advertised after having to troubleshoot software glitch

Frederick G.Barney, Amazon
15 October 2013
  • Summary: When I loaded the software provided, the module named Canon MP Navigator would not run. After troubleshooting for several hours, I called in my tech-savy son, who found the problem documented on a U-Tube video. After performing the fix described on the video, the program worked, and the scanner is fully functional.

Great fast scanner

SamSpade, Canon
12 October 2013
  • Conclusion: I've been VERY pleased with this scanner for the cost VERY good, seems fast and accurate. Cannon seems to contine support for new drivers and software OS, some companies do NOT.
  • Pros: Compact Design, durable, High resolution, High-speed scanning, easy to use

Problem understood

Harry, Canon
7 June 2013
  • Conclusion: I have had this scanner for 2 years, using it mostly for pdf documents. I had a problem with speed and disfunction as mentioned in a number of the negative reviews. I learned that the cause of the problem was my USB port. When I used my usb extension port the scanner was slow and disfunctional. When I plugged it into my Mac installed port it worked fine. You might explore this yourselves in such cases.

was Disappointed

I Babe, Canon
28 December 2012
  • Conclusion: I went to use my scanner and realize it does not do slides. very well. I need the adaptor for the slides if it comes with one .The adaptor is only for negatives. I was told it was just like the one I had which did slides and was great . That why i went with this one .
  • Pros: Compact Design, High resolution, easy to use, easy to transport
  • Cons: Slow-speed scanning, doe not do slides well

Canon 700F versus Epson V370

William Sommerwerck "grizzled geezer", Amazon
18 October 2012
  • Summary: Last year, when my belovéd HP 4600 scanner bit the dust, I replaced it with the Canon CanoScan LiDE 700F. I've since received an Epson Perfection V370 Photo for review. Because they have similar features and pricing, I've decided to write a single review comparing and contrasting them. This review replaces the previous review of the Canon 700F. Construction ------------ The HP 4600 was a classic scanner.

wonderful until it broke

jt, Canon
17 January 2012
  • Conclusion: This was a wonderful scanner for the money and for the size. The software is a bit clunky, and had odd defaults but works just fine. The photo and document scanning quality and speed are superb. Mechanical failure 3 months after the warranty expired means it's going straight to be recycled.
  • Pros: top quality
  • Cons: mechanical failure 3 months out of warranty

"Best consumer negative scanner I could find"

jreidca, CNET
5 August 2011
  • Pros: Good quality scans Excellent negative scanning for price (you'll pay several thousand $ for anything better) Easy to set-up & use (though finding calibration is non-intuitive) Light-weight, space-saving design
  • Cons: Negative scanning speed - 7 minutes for maximum quality; 1:30 for 4x6 quality Calibration non-intuitive

Nice scanner for former HP 4670 users

P. Schmidt, Amazon
6 March 2011
  • Summary: I have used an HP Scanjet 4670 for years, and really loved the thing. It was the rare flatbed scanner that did not take up a lot of desk space, having the unusual vertical picture frame design. My particular unit was faulty in some way (I never determined whether it was a hardware fault or something with the driver); sometimes in the middle of a series of scans it would crash, requiring that I close the HP software and cycle power to the scanner, then relaunch the HP...
