Summary: I purchased this scanner more than a year ago. It has worked and still works excellently. All scans are crisp and clear. I moved it from my Windows 98 PC to my Windows 7 PC without a hitch. My only complaint is that if I leave the USB cable plugged in and put the computer to sleep.
Summary: I bought this scanner 5 years ago and it is everything that I expected from a portable scanner and more. It is hard to expect quality anymore but this product works as well today as it did when I bought it. It gets a lot of daily use.

Cons: None! A color scanner for $39! How can you go wrong?
Summary: too bad it's end of sales, as this does meet all the postive reviews posted here. was looking for a scanner for general home use and photo scanning... the reviews for the newer versions seemed to be not as glowing as those for the 500F. Got a chance to get a refurbed unit and it's great.

Summary: For slightly over $100, this is a great little scanner. The ease of operation is outstanding. I bought it for my office, but it spends equal amounts of time on everyone else's desk.
