Excerpt: I recently purchased a Canon Canoscan LiDE 25 flatbed scanner. I was looking for something in a reasonable price range that also worked well for scanning both photos and artwork. So it had to have high resolution capabilities and a decent amount of features.
Summary: These scanners are great for older systems, because they are bus powered( through the USB cable ) the scanners may seem a little slow. The down fall is they do not work with Windows 7. There is a third party company that offers software and drivers (only works with their software at that time) but by the time you purchase the drivers and software you could have bought a current scanner. 39.99 for 1 year of updates or 79.99 lifetime updates.
Summary: The scanner is small, light, easy to use, no power supply, it plugs directly to the laptop, definition is optimal. I don't know for professional results but for home work is a scanner that meets all your needs.
Summary: Once the software that supports this simple scanner all that is needed to plug into a USB port and voila! It is ready to roll and scan just what you need to have scanned. The supporting software that is installed will get things running in no time with no complications. Anyone needing scans done, this is a great way to get the job done. Keep it simple with a simple scanner with no more than you need or want. Simple? Very simple.
Summary: Good things about this scanner *----------------------------* Very easy to install. Comes with complete software suite.(Multilingual) Very well packed from factory. Very thin 3.4CM =~ 1.34". Looks good from the outside. No need for electricity cables. bad picture quality. (For home use only). Very Low cost.(Comparing to other scanners). Its canon.(But on the other hand does not look like other canon products).
