  • Summary: After reading others reviews on this Scanner I was concerned. So, I called Canon and they (over the phone) had me load the necessary software(s) and manual to my Mac mini (Apple) computer. When the scanner arrived I took it to Apple and they showed me how it works. The teacher finally realized that the button on the bottom of the scanner needed to be released before it would work. We wasted 15 minutes on figuring that problem out.

Not That Easy To Use When Scanning For Email

Larry, Amazon

  • Summary: This SCANNER, CANON, CANOSCAN LiDE 110 scans documents well, but is not that easy to use. I don't like the fact that it won't scan directly as an email attachment. You have to scan to a file and then get file to email as an attachment. Same if you want to scan document to Microsoft word. I don't know if all scanners are the same in this regard, but this one is not what I thought it would be.

  • Excerpt: Record attendend events programs. Record documents sent by hard paper. Easy to handle. I used to have LiDE90 and loved it. LiDE is slightly less user friendly.
  • Pros: Accurate Color, Easy To Set Up, Good Resolution, Widely Compatible
  • Cons: Difficult Setup

30 second scan

InTheMitad, B&H Photo
6 January 2013
  • Excerpt: I just got the machine, so I'm only reviewing the speed. I just needed a scanner to scan a few thousand pages without wearing out my 3 in 1. They advertise approx 16 seconds to scan. Sort of true. That is how long to scan just one page. However, if you are scanning multiple pages, it takes approximately 30 seconds to scan the page, then reset to be ready for the next page. It took 3min 35sec scan 7 pages for a multiple page pdf 300dpi.

  • Summary: My review is as follows: The scanner does what it says it will do. The issues I have read about in the other reviews have not shown up as of yet, but I think the usb issue is a big one. The fact that you can get the error " not connected " when you know you are , is a big headache. I have it connected to usb that is in my computer, rather than a add-on usb hub, and so far, no problems. It is made very cheaply, and my concern is it won't last very long.

Not the fastest but it does the job well

James, B&H Photo
30 August 2012
  • Excerpt: We use it primarily for copying some important documents that we need PFD copies of for archiving. It works well and produces a crisp, clear image. Does well with jpg reproduction of photos, too. As far as scanners go these days the 110 is not particularly fast, but as a simpler model it does the job. If you had a lot of work/photos to scan I'd choose a more versatile, faster model, but for the work I'm giving it, it fits the bill exactly.
