Summary: This SCANNER, CANON, CANOSCAN LiDE 110 scans documents well, but is not that easy to use. I don't like the fact that it won't scan directly as an email attachment. You have to scan to a file and then get file to email as an attachment. Same if you want to scan document to Microsoft word.
Outstanding hardware bundled with nightmare software
21 July 2013
Summary: I will begin with an earnest request to Canon - fire the guys who wrote the driver software. If you outsourced the job terminate the contract right away. But don't throw away the program. Use it for training purposes, it is an excellent example of how not to do the job.
Summary: It was OK for the price (it was on sale for like 50). I don't regret buying it, but I wouldn't recommended it to a friend. Cons: The cover is filmsy, the driver is really primitive, it's hard to get it working with newer OS's. You don't really have much control over the scanning.
Summary: I've made no particular effort to keep up with scanner technology: this scanner was bought as a replacement for an HP ScanJet 5p from the late 90s, and so the Canon is very pleasant change from that - smaller, faster, higher resolution, and much, much quieter.
Compact, Easy to use, but not high enough quality for photos
Robert H Thomsen, Amazon

Summary: Pros: No power cable, just runs off USB power. Scans fast and is very compact. Great for scanning documents. Also produces multi-page PDFs which is very handy. Cons: When paper is wrinkly or was creased you must hold down the top to get it to all come in clearly.
Summary: Had to replace my ide35 as they do not do software to run it on windows 7. This appears ok, but not as robust as earlier model and it took a few times to run the initial scan, as it kept stating it was still locked, when it definitely wasn't.
Summary: The scanner itself is about as compact as an A4 scanner could really be. The quality of the scans is good enough for me - mainly business documents. A perfectly good piece of kit is badly let down by truly awful software that contrives to make simple tasks hard.
Summary: I bought this scanner because I decided it was time to shred several years' worth of collected papers I no longer had room for, and keep them instead as files on my PC. I went for this one as a low-cost option which had good reviews. On the whole I am very happy with the product.
Summary: I generally found scans quite clear and sharp, except for a problem with a few horizontal and vertical bands across the scanned area which appear blurred and out of focus. I ordered a replacement, and this exhibited the same fault, although not quite as bad.
