Excerpt: The scanned is difficult to use and forward scanned images. It is also slow but I recognize I did buy a lower quality machine. I have had it for less than months and use it about once a week. the light source quit working.
I should have purchased a more expensive model
Excerpt: This one was very good for the first few months, but all of sudden it does not work after using 5-6 months, especially I only use 1-2 times in average per week and only scan 1-2 pages of my document each. I am disappointed as Canon is no longer to repair/fix this model at all.
Pros: Compact Design, High resolution, easy to use
Summary: The software that came with this scanner is terribly difficult to use. One cannot simply save a file in a format that works for him, but instead must save the file in a PDF. In order to pull the image into a Word document one has to open the PDF file, print screen and paste that image into a JPG.
Summary: The only reason why I bought this item is because it was stated in the item description that you can scan LEGAL SIZE DOCUMENTS. It even mentions that the maximum paper size is LEGAL (8.5" x 14").
Summary: I purchased this from Staples and scanned a pile of pictures one weekend (about 50)....I figured if it was not going to withstand the amount of pictures I have to scan this weekend then it will let me know - sure enough, after awhile it stopped auto cropping.
Pros: Small, light. Did not get a chance to use it.
Cons: USB Power Only. Would not power up (install) through a powered USB hub. Software installation was crazy - security was so bad that I had to create a new local administrators account, even though I am the administrator, and use the new account before the software's internal security would allow th...
Summary: This product has without doubt the worst interface software I have ever seen. The maker were probably trying to make it idiot proof but in the process have made it almost useless. Nothing wrong with the hardware but software makes it not worth having.
Good quality scans, struggles with non-smooth items

Summary: LED back-light tech used in this scanner has serious issues with certain types of media. Scans perfectly photographs that are flat, however if you are scanning photos that have been slightly crumpled, the LED light seams to highlight these folds really badly no matter how I try to flatten them.
Summary: The scanner itself is good quality, scanned pictures and documents are clear. However, the software that has to be used with it is almost useless. I am using Windows 7 (not exactly uncommon) and need a scanner for occasional use (every couple of weeks or so).
