Summary: This has been a good, cheap, scanner. I don't use it much, but it has always worked when I needed it. I think I'm able to just connect it to my laptop and use the built-in Windows scanning utilities, so I don't have to bother with any BS add-on support software.
Summary: I don't often have needs of a scanner. It sits alongside my computer desk always ready to go at a moments notice thanks to its USB connection for power and software direction. The software is flexible enough for casual work, and once I stopped tinkering with the software it began giving me flawless...
Summary: i have had this scanner for over 5 years now, it still works fine. I have never had any serious issue with it. When i was using WinXP i had to download drivers ( or use the scanner's CD) - this gave me full functionality (could use the buttons on the front).
Summary: I prefer standalone scanners because you dont have to worry, for example, about your all in one printer running out of ink in order to use the scanner. I've had it for years, lugged it around the world, bumped it around pretty good and it still works like a charm. Easy programs to scan.
