Excerpt: I used to have a flatbed A4 scanner and a dedicated negative/slide scanner. The flatbed was quite good but obsolete (with some of the supplied software not working correctly even on WIndows Me), and I had a lot of dust problems with the negative scanner. So, I purchased the 9900F to replace both scanners. Connecting the scanner to the PC is straightforward, and the supplied software is quick and easy to instal.
Excerpt: I love this scanner, I had owned it for a month now and the results are stunning. If you want the best quality scans, then this is the scanner for you. I upgraded from an Epson 640U and everything about the Canon is better - with the exception of speed. Scanning of photographs is easy and relatively fast. The results are as close to perfect as you are going to get. Batch scanning of 35mm negatives is a breeze if not somewhat arduous.
