Slow, slow, slow

frustrated teacher, Staples
6 March 2014
  • Excerpt: Returned this inferior product because it was flimsy and very, very, very slow. We have an older scanner, which we fixed and are now once again using as this one while cheaper than fixing our other one didn't perform as well. While we love our brother printer, copier, scanner, fax machine (another product- we felt this one wasn't worth the money even though it was on a daily special and reasonably priced.
  • Cons: Difficult to Use, Poor Quality, Unwieldy

Very Good Investment

Busy, Staples
3 March 2014
  • Excerpt: The SDmobile has worked out for me. It is narrow enough to set right next to my lapG top. It takes up little to no space. I just reach for it and there it is. The scanned documents, cards, receipts and pictures are of a very good quality. A very good investment for me. It is light weight and I carry it in my suitcase when I travel. It has also come in handy when I have to work with children on different projects.
  • Pros: Easy To Use, Lightweight, Solid Construction
  • Cons: Holds 1 Sheet At A Time

NOT Mac compatible

greggooo, Staples
8 February 2014
  • Excerpt: I bought this and the associate swore up and down it was compatible. It says it is. The drivers don't work, even the upgraded ones, the computer will not use it. Do not buy if you have a mac.

Mac updated to 10.9 and now scanner does not work

Marisa Murgatroyd "documentary filmmaker/phot..., Amazon
17 December 2013
  • Summary: Beware this scanner if you have the latest OSX (10.9). It does not ship with drivers that work. They blame Apple. Their "fix" is to install some other bloatware that comes with it and use that to scan instead of the usual scanner driver.

REVIEW UPDATED 11-2-2013

Tax Accountant "Tax Accountant", Amazon
22 September 2013
  • Summary: It's portable and works well in that respect. It is also USB powered and works off your laptop battery, so you will not need batteries or to plug it in when you are traveling, which is a nice plus. But two major drawbacks: 1. Won't scan to PDF. Of course you can scan, then open the image, then save to PDF if you have Acrobat, but it's a lot of extra steps and hassle when you are a busy professional. 2. Also, it scans a multi-page document as a bunch of separate images.
