Excerpt: Mixed Review. I ordered two of these scanners for our practice, as we already have one other DSmobile 700D scanner in function. One scanner works great but the second one will not calibrate and therefore not function.
Summary: I don't like using this. It might be true of other compact scanners, since I've only used this one, but I dislike how hard it is to line it up so that it feeds straight. As a result, it's always crooked so you always end up with dark strips at the top and sides of each scan.
Excerpt: Brother has a good reputation with its scanners so I decided to pick this one up. This was a nice little scanner, easy to set up and worked fine for a couple of months. Recently I tried scanning a document and the whole page appeared black.
Summary: If you really need a scanner that you will use regularly, and one that give a good quality scan, you may want to rethink this purchase. We use our Brother all in one printer to do our scans instead as this unit didn't not provide us with the time saving benefits and quality we had hoped.
Summary: I ordered this because I had a lot of paperwork to scan. It took me a while to figure out how to link this to my laptop and after I did I found it very awkward to use. It often misfeeds the paper.
Summary: I purchased this scanner to use with my iMac. Fortunately I also have a PC; otherwise I would return the scanner to AMAZON. The software works so poorly on my MAC that, in my opinion, it should not be sold as "compatible with Lion". If you are planning to use the scanner with a PC, buy it.
