Summary: This is a great little scanner. Highly recommended.
Pros: This scanner is great. We have been scanning all of our old client files (multiple pages per file). This scanner lets you start a scan, then you can work on other things while simply periodically sticking the next page in. Switching between BW, grayscale, and color as well as switching file types...
Cons: Does not scan semi transparent items, such as xrays.
Summary: Once you get used to the software, it is an excellent scanner. I bought it to replace a Neat Reciept scanner that I thought was on its way to scanner heaven. After I purchased the Brother D700, I was able to bring the Neat Reciept scanner back to life.
Summary: I have a Macbook Pro OS X 10.8.3. Before doing the installation I noticed the software on the disk was only good up to 10.7 . So I went to the brothers website to download the latest drivers for the scanner. The scanner worked fine.
Summary: I wanted something small to carry for scanning with my laptop, and this caught my eyes. It's great and easy to operate. Scans very fast and easy. Comes with it's own soft case and fits in the laptop case with no problem.
Summary: I was looking for a document scanner for household use. This one had all the features I wanted, duplex, compact. So, I bought it. I was so disappointed by it's performance that I decided to return it the next day! Pros: 1. Lightweight, compact. 2. Installs easy Cons: 1.
Summary: Works great so far. 1 or 2 sided scans (2-sided is a little slower, but not much and both are reasonably fast.) Good, clear images. The software that comes with produces JPG and PDF easily. Convenient to attach, remove, and store.
Summary: If you sit on the couch and pay bills like I do, I needed a device that scans the bills and places them in a folder so I can toss the originals. The Brother DS700D is the deal. Everybody knows they should keep their bills after you have paid them so that you can prove you did pay them.
Summary: Purchased this item for my office setting. It works great! It installs in a flash, scans nicely and saves easily. The 2 sided scan on 1 pass is key functionality. Quirky install where the software must be installed per workstation, per windows user, however.
Summary: Although I had some trouble getting it set up (was referred back to manufacturer) I did get it calibrated and am now using it. It requires continual hands on... I probably should have gotten one with a document feeder, but this will do for now.
