Great when it works, extremely frustrating to keep it working.

Summary: I constantly need to remove, and reinstall the software. In all cases, the device shows as "connected" and "ready" - but a scan will not actually start from the device itself, or the computer. I am running the most up to date software, and this has happened on both my Windows 8.1 and my windows 7 Professional machine. Cables have been replaced. This is not worth the cost savings, or the time to troubleshoot.
Summary: I am enrolled agent and prepare income tax returns for my clients. Wish I had bought my ADS 2000 High Speed Scanner before the tax season. I have used it for a couple of extension returns an love its TWAIN capability to communicate directly with my professional tax software. It scans tax documents directly to my Tax Archive Cabinet at a great speed. I'm truly on my way to becoming 100% paperless.

Summary: It's a good scanner. I returned it because of the way it handles the papers. i needed a scanner to scan hundreds of medical records on papers, which have wrinkles, dog ears, stickers etc etc. It will get jammed pretty soon. I had to buy a Fujitsu ScanSnap ix500 and it handles much better. A lot less jam. Much more expensive too. Cost $429. You should get this brother scanner if you want to scan a stack of papers that are in good "condition".
Excerpt: Great scanner to own. I have always been recommended Brother products and machines, and have little to complain about. Our last computer tech also thought highly of brother products. Scanner works smoothly and quick. Havent had a jam yet. We use the scanner for both small and large stacks of paper without issues.
Summary: I have been using this product for approximately two months. I can't put more than 3-5 pages in it without it multifeeding. I don't know if I got a bad unit or if there is some sort of alignment issue with it, but this (obviously) completely kills the functionality of it. These are not rumpled documents, either. On the plus side I really like the software and the included OCR functionality. Also it is a good size. I would not recommend this product.
Excerpt: I have to say, it was a bit hard trying to figure out which scanner to purchase. Our office has always used our printers to scan, but we needed something for 2 sided and large files. After completing my research and working within my budget, I purchased the Brother ADS-2000! We received it in a couple of days and the set-up was vary easy, don't be fooled by the size, this little machine works like a charm and amazing PDF's.
Summary: Loved it until it started reporting a paper jam with every scan. Called customer service. They provided me instructions to clean it. I cleaned it, but it did not resolve the issue. Unfortunately, they don't offer repair services for this model, so now it is a brick - a rather expensive brick. May try the Fujitsu ScanSnap iX500 Scanner once I recover from the limited ROI on this $300 purchase.
Excerpt: When i can manage to actually get it to work its okay.... I can put a brand new stack of papers in it and perfectly line them up and have it crush every other paper i put through it... By the time I'm done the stack i have a bunch of destroyed documents... On occasion i can scan maybe 5 or so documents without issue. So in all if u can actually manage to make it work your golden. Oh and it doesn't pick up red pen very well either.
