Summary: This is an older scanner, and there is no longer any image editing software specifically for the scanner. I downloaded Irfanview, and this worked great. Overall, the scanner's capabilities are pretty basic, but it works great for simple tasks, and it's really compact.
Ambir TravelScan Pro600 Does Not Work with 64-Bit Vista
6 October 2008
Summary: I bought this scanner to use with my laptop as a mobile scanner, however, it did not work with my Windows Vista 64-bit laptop. I wish I would have known that before I purchased it. The description said it works with Windows Vista so I had no idea there were 64-bit and 32-bit differences. It works with Windows Vista 32-bit. I contacted the Ambir technician and he said a 64-bit driver was not available. So I installed it on my Windows XP desktop and it worked just fine.
Summary: Good for black and white only. Doesnt have shades or grey. Not good for many purpose use. Although if all your going to us it for is documents it is quick and easy to install. plus it is good for travel if you have a larger computer case to fit things in.
