Love this scanner

Michele N., Newegg
22 November 2014
  • Summary: I believe the airlines dropped my checked bag from the top of the plane and actually broke the scanner which was inside. Ordering another. Can't work without it!
  • Pros: Very portable, easy to travel with, scans pages pretty quickly. Works very well with small receipts and thicker items. Have used this scanner for almost 2 years. Travel often and do audit work so no need to transport cumbersome and/or confidential documents.
  • Cons: None

Still great

Konstantin D., Newegg
22 October 2012
  • Summary: It developed a narrow, black streak for a short amount of time. Streak disappeared after a dozen scans.
  • Pros: Have moved to Windows 7 and the scanner is still working great. Receipts and short documents are fine; takes some persistence for long documents. Adequate for printed article clips.
  • Cons: Not for photos.

Compact, basic scanner

19 January 2012
  • Summary: This is an older scanner, and there is no longer any image editing software specifically for the scanner. I downloaded Irfanview, and this worked great. Overall, the scanner's capabilities are pretty basic, but it works great for simple tasks, and it's really compact.

User Review

joel p., Newegg
25 November 2011
  • Pros: worked well while it worked.
  • Cons: quit working. "on" button got stuck in the down position. dome contour of button hung up on underside of case top causing it to try to feed paper continuously. i powered it off and took out the 4 screws and released the button and smoothed it's edge so it would release after pushing. a week later the nylon paper feed gears began to slip and after that it quit altogether. i'd never buy another one of these. i probably voided the warranty by going through the paper seal...

Easy to use scanner

James S., Newegg
19 November 2011
  • Summary: I'll probably get a 3rd party scanning software program in the near future. 3 stars b/c the software doesn't remember your preferences.
  • Pros: Scanned documents look great. Scans to PDF, JPG, or TIF files.
  • Cons: I wan the scanner to save the files to the server but there is no way to set a default location in the software. It just defaults to your documents folder every time you start it.

  • Summary: We have several techs that are finally moving from XP to Windows 7, and their old scanners no longer worked, these just plug in and go.
  • Pros: Works in Win 7 32 and 64 bit. Comes with travel sleeve.
  • Cons: none

Ambir Travelscan

Tim L., Newegg
22 April 2011
  • Summary: We put these in place to replace fax machines for the 1-4 page faxes and they fit the bill.
  • Pros: We have around 95 employees and I have around 15 of these scanners in place. We have a mix of baby boomers and Gen-x so a good mix of generations. Everyone uses them with ease and loves them at our dealership. Very easy to use, they do not require a power cord (big plus), scans directly to pdf files. Very simple and the scan quality is amazing, plus can be adjusted.
  • Cons: This is a good 1-4 page scanner, if you are looking for a 5-more pages at a time scanner I would look at the Fijitsu 1500 or better.

15 January 2011
  • Summary: Didn't try photos, but I never intended to use it for this.
  • Pros: Plug in, it works. Receipts, bills, short documents. Gets day-to-day paper off your desk, out of your files and in the paper shredder. Comes with soft travel pocket.
  • Cons: None so far.
