Summary: I bought a used MS361 here on eBay after having an MS390. I had used a 361 when working with a disaster clean up crew, that crew had a dozen MS361s that saw extremely hard day in day out use. The equipment manager swore by them as the best saws he had. I have about 3 years of 5 full cord a year hardwood firewood cutting on this saw and it has been trouble free.
After buying this saw, I wanted to throw away my old saw (Poulan).

Summary: awesome saw. excellent power. extremely high RPMs. PRO model is a lot lower on the vibration. 20 inch bar can take down a good sized tree. awesome. so powerful, sometimes I find myself backing off the trigger. Wow!
Summary: After having done a lot of research I decided to purchase a MS361 to replace the Mac 7-10 that I've used for the last 20 years. The 361 is a very good saw with an excellent anti-vibration system and power to weight ratio. My initial use was to cut up a large hickory and ash tree and was very happy with the saw. I expect to use this saw for many years.
Summary: I cannot say enough about this saw. It is professional grade, perfectly balanced, light and powerful. I ran an ms 290 for five years on a daily basis cutting trees. Felling, bucking, and cutting limbs. I finally upgraded to an ms 361 when I added another ground man to my crew and it cut production time and gasoline expenditure in half. It is hands down the best $650 (I paid the retail price at a Stihl dealer for a brand new unit) I have ever spent on a tool.
Summary: Great power to weight ratio, starts easily too. The saw is much better than the MS 391 which I had prior, which was too heavy and bulky and cut no better than the 361. The 361 is a reliable tough saw that is definitely worth buying if you can acquire one now as they are discontinued.
