Of the many saws I have owned over the past 50 years, MS260 is the best.

Summary: MS 260 is my favorite saw. It is light, powerful, easy to start, and simple to maintain. I bought this saw used, not working, on E-Bay, then repaired it with a 44.7 MM upgrade cylinder and piston and a carburetor kit.
Summary: The MS260 I bought was rebuilt from parts from more than one saw. It was one of the early versions with the "MS" designation. It functions fine and has plenty of power for its size. The only thing I would recommend is to be sure which version you get. The early models did not have a decompression valve, but someone put a cowl on this saw that was for the decompression valve, so from the side it looked like the PRO version, but upon closer inspection it lacked the...
Summary: I have been a Stihl convert for many years now and own three other Stihl saws of varying sizes. This new Stihl MS 260 Pro is another excellent machine in the mid-size range and I have no hesitation in recommending it for general lighter purpose work like cutting firewood or felling smaller diameter trees. A good saw from a good manufacturer and supplied by an excellent EBayer!
Summary: The recondiontioned 026 was beautifully done. Saw stated on 2nd pull. Powerful and lite weight. Anti-vibration system is very nice too. Cuts well with the 20 inch bar but even better with the 16 inch. This is my second 026, the first is 16 years young. You just can't go wrong with an 026. The 026 predates the 260 and 261. Same saw, more stuff for emissions compliance. The 026 is also slightly lighter than the other two.
Great mid size saw, great value for the price. I highly recommend to all.

Summary: I needed a mid size saw to help with the tree work I'm doing. I asked a lot of questions, did a bunch of research, read a bunch of reviews, and compared specs of other saws in the same size range. The ms260pro had everything I was looking for, excellent reputation, great quality, great durability, light weight, powerful, BUT, the price was too high brand new.
Lightweight. Powerful. Very pleasant to operate all day long.

Summary: Model Kw cc bore stroke hp operating rpm 026 pro 2.96 48.7 44mm 32mm 3.2 14,000 This saw is ideal for lightweight work like limbing and trimming This saw is perfectly suited for light duty commercial or homeowner small projects. Stihl has put out this saw for several years and continues to make this saw under the ms 260 pro name with improved fuel economy and lower emissions. This saw has a place in most loggers arsenal.
Summary: The Stihl MS260 is a small mid-range professional saw. Within a few days of receiving the saw it was used on several disaster relief jobs to help remove trees on houses and across driveways in East Tennessee. The MS260 is similar to the older 026 and does not have the compression release starting and adjustable oiler features of the MS260Pro. The newer MS261 has a more eco-friendly carb but weighs a little more.

Summary: I have been an owner of a 026 Stihl chainsaw for over 10 years and already know they are the most reliable saw out there. Now that I own two of the 026 stihl and just bought a 028 stihl. My opinion is - "they are the best you can buy." Perfect size for part time wood cutting.
