Summary: The saw worked very well and I'm glad I ordered the variable angle model. However I had to bring it to Porter-Cable after my first use of the saw because the front swivel wouldn't move. They replaced the defective unit with a new one.
Summary: This is the 4th 9750 I've gone through, it's tough and powerful enough for whatever i'm cutting out, usually in tight spaces or between joists. only grip is that the gear holding the blade wears out after about 2 years of hard work and and it's impossible to get a straight cut after that, but with the abuse it takes it doesn't surprise me, so that's when i replace it. Dewalt service center will recondition it for $140 if you ever need that.
Summary: This saw is expensive but as a former fencing and decking contractor I have to say that it is definitely worth the money. It is also the most powerful tool at 11.5 amps. For this reason it is heavier than some others which another reviewer complained about. This tool is unique in that it can contort into tight situations by using the two different mechanisms to contort the tool instead of you having to contort your body.
Summary: Wow. Porter - Cable along with Milwaukee was the only saws all you would see on the jobs. I owned one of each for the past 25 years and both lasted a long long time with no problems. This contraption should not have the porter cable name. What a discrace. with the first pull of the trigger I could tell this tool had problems. Felt like my arm was stuck in a blender trying to hold on to this thing. I used it twice before the whole front end and blade holder imploded.
Summary: I have had my Tiger Saw for well over 15 years now.............. and I have constructed entire houses and numerous remodels and repairs in the USA......... and let lead carpenters normally use the saw. It has always worked these many thousands of times perfectly. I keep it clean and in a case of its own. This is a heavier than usual saw, and it will cut whatever you want properly but you need to use the proper blades and techniques.
Summary: this is one of the best tools i have ever used. i have been a professional builder, carpenter and remodeler for over thirty years and i have seen lots of fad tools come and go. however, this tool has earned a special place in my kit for its' outstanding performance. unbelievable what you can do with it. typical top quality porter cable stuff here. really heavy duty and truly amazing versatility.
Summary: This was cool at first, probably after 20 uses, maybe fewer, the chuck started getting a little shaky, and later began to rotate, making it difficult to cut smoothly and in a straight line. It now swivels 3/8", and is useless for fine surgical demo work. Just use it for hacking now. I might take it apart and see what's going on inside. I'll have to buy a new saw anyway, and can't trust porter cable to fix it to my satisfaction. Too many moveable parts I'm thinking.
