short on power

  • Summary: Most all of my tools are Makita brand and they are up to par. But this is my first cordless sawzall and it definitely does not have the power that a 110v does. It is a disappointment. I do a lot of remodeling and new construction of homes and use a sawzall continuously. I was using a 110v Makita sawzall for 3 years and operated it until it burned out and I then bought the cordless. I am not happy with it so am going back to a 110v.

powerhouse

  • Summary: This saw rocks, with the LED lights and the power it has for a battery powered device I love it. The small batteries can also be used on it with a very slight modification.

  • Summary: The best cordless reciprocating saw available. Here's why: 1. It uses the best batteries (more power) 2. Blade lock button (blades stay in the tool) 3. Tool hook (don't always need it, but great when you do) 4.

Awesome Saw!

Rick S, amazon.com

  • Summary: I have several other LXT tools, so the battery and charger are compatable. I was a little worried about buying a cordless saw, but after using it for a few days, I couldn't be happier. The headlight feature is very useful, I am glad a spent the extra money for this model. The 1.5 LXT batteries will fit (with some effort), however this saw was designed for the 3.0 batteries, they slide on perfectly. Good Luck!

Disposable Junk

Bud, amazon.com
25 November 2009
  • Summary: I have owned a lot of Makita and DeWalt tools in my life. This is part of the newest LXT Lithium ion-powered tools. This is a great concept, but seriously, 4 of the 6 LXT tools I own have flaws/problems that greatly impact their utility. The problem with this recip saw is that the shoe just plain does not work. It is only decorative. It will not hold.

Great tool and plenty of power!

pa1putt, CPO

  • Excerpt: I've read reviews that claim the blade comes out while cutting. Let me just say that I cut out a metal exhaust fan with this saw and I couldn't believe the power this saw has. I made 4 to 5 different cuts about 4 inches long across the metal box and aroumd the would frame. The Makita did the job and the blade never showed signs of comming out or loosening up. I love this saw, and the light is a great plus also.
  • Pros: Easy To Use, Good Design, Powerful
