Summary: I'm a contractor and I'm in the process of replacing all my Dewalt 18 volt tools with Makita since my $350 Dewalt drill decided to catch on fire. My Dewalt sawsall also decided to break. I love the feel of this saw. The led light is a big plus. No complaints so far.
Summary: This tool was a joke, The tool looked to be badly worn out, I installed the battery and nothing, tryed a different fully chrgd. batt and nothing, checked brushes and they were new, the motor was siezed up, could not even pull out the saw end to install a blade, these guys obviously do not test their tools , My first real disappointment with a makita tool and I own alot , do not buy from these guys
Works about as well as a battery operated saw could

Summary: It does about as well as you can expect for something powered by an 18 volt battery. Don't expect to cut heavy metal plate with it, but for anything reasonable such as sheet metal and wood, it works just fine and is a lot more convenient than my big corded Sawzall. I still have the big guy for big jobs, but for anything smaller I just whip this out and bzzzzz slice the end off my bumper, bzzzz trim the pinch seam around the rear wheel well, bzzzz cut a piece of...
Summary: This is another great makita cordless power tool. The safety button is very solid and works well which is very important. The blade holder makes it very quick and easy to remove and install blades. The blade gaurd can also slide in and out which is handy. The only thing I don't like is it is kind of heavy and bulky. But this has much power and functions well, the light on the front is also a nice plus.
Great value if you already have the battery and charger!

Summary: I already had several Makita drills, so purchased this expecting the same quality to complement my existing collection, while not having to purchase another charger and batteries. It functions great, especially useful for trimming trees. I have a 120 volt Milwaukee Sawzall which has seen less use because of the ease of a battery operated tool. If I had a heavy job, I'd still use the Milwaukee - more power.
