Summary: Fitted a fine 48tooth Bosch crosscut blade to cut 3 inch oak, the result was surprisingly clean and accurate. There is no soft start but the cut is pretty smooth. Impressed so far, hopefully the reliability will be up to the Makita standard.
Summary: " Well constructed, solid piece of kit as you would expect from Makita, well balanced, low vibration, not too noisy with plenty of power to rip through panels. The supplied guide fence is a bit on the small side, and doesn't get very close to the blade, so for most jobs you will need to use a straight edge clamped to the workpiece. Good storage case with space for a spare blade.
Summary: Great saw well built and works very well on a range of materials. The blade included is ok for rough cutting but a finer one is needed for use with higher quality materials. The fence is poor and lacks accuracy needed for precision work. Overall, a good product.
Summary: This is the second makita circular saw that i have brought and would buy another! the only problem with it i have found is that the guard is a bit small, apart from that it's a solid reliable piece of kit good for all kinds of carpentry jobs.

Excerpt: I was lent this saw by my father when Inbought a new house. I needed to floor the loft of my new house in order to create storage space for a lot of hour belongings. We were moving from rented to outer first owned house. We were moving to a smaller property with a lot less space. I bought loft panels from B and Q and I needed to cut them in order for them to fit between the beams in my loft.
