Summary: A good saw. The barrel design looks different than most jig saws, but I find it much more comfortable and controllable to use. It also permits you to easily make a cradle and clamp the saw (upside down) to a workbench and use it as a jig/table saw for making more precise or repetitive cuts in pieces that are not conveniently clamped. Granted not a common use, but handy if you need it, and something I can't see doing with a conventional top handle jig saw.
Summary: I was very much looking forward to try this saw after the excellent reviews I have read. I had a 3' thick piece of lumber to rip and cross cut and when I saw that at 90 degrees the tool is able to cut over 5' i thought the cut would be easy. I used a edge clamp to make the cut straight. I also bought the xtra-clean Bosch saw blade. But when i started to rip the lumber..oh god..the blade flex laterally A LOT.
Summary: Works fine but I don't like the fact that there is a switch that turns it on and keeps it running. I think a trigger makes more sense (release trigger, saw stops) but then I'm only an occasional user of jig saws. Perhaps the pros like this?
Summary: Serious power, very easy to control. The light really helps. chips and dust do not collect in front of the blade as with my previous saw. the cut is fully perpendicular to the face unlike my previous saw. The barrel grip is very comfortable and aids in control. I wish I had this years ago.
Summary: Switched from a top handle dewalt to the 4351fct. What a great addition to our shop. It cuts a nearly perfect line in 8/4 poplar and oak. What more could you ask. The led light is great the vibration is low. The only problem was the case is not well designed but that doesn't bother me since it went straight to storage with the rest of the cases for our tools.
