Summary: I am an woodworking aficionado. Some time ago, I read some experts recommendation to buy a compound miter saw (crosscuts and miter cuts) first instead of a circular saw (crosscut and ripping). I make the opposite decision.
Summary: Made less than 20 cuts with this saw before the motor started arcing (bright green flash visible through motor housing). Had to turn it off before it caught on fire! Warranty repair you think - think again!
Summary: The saw is easy to put together, and if you've never used one before, it's very simple to figure out. 2 issues with this saw: The first is the angle guide on the front: For example, if you set it to 45 degrees, you will be over or under by a few, meaning that your cuts are not precise.

Summary: This is my first miter saw and I'm very happy with my purchase. Size is perfect for my needs of random home projects. I can lift this thing and move it wherever I want with ease. Makes a very clean cut with the included blade. Awesome angles and cuts as described in the product info.
Summary: I'm a hobby guy and home owner. I always wanted a good mitre saw and this works really well for what I do. All the angle settings are true right out of the box. Looked at saws that cost a lot more that weren't as nice.
