Summary: On the scale of 1-10 I\u2019d give the saw 6. The laser beam isn\u2019t square to the pencil line off my precision square. The cuts are not truly square either. The hold down clamp is rather Mickey-mouse as well. With that said however, the saw performs quite well for cuts that do not require close precision.
Summary: The first saw I received was 3/32" inch out of alignment front to back (no way to adjust this), the lens was off the light and the sliding action was rough. Sent saw back and received another new one.The second saw was a good usable saw. I think products need more alignment checks before shipping.
Summary: My Pastor requested I make an altar for the church, designed by an architect. I had a 10" radial arm saw that was about 25 years old and not accurate enough to provide the required miter joints.
Summary: My father had this saw as I was growing up. We had used that saw for every thing. That same saw never had a flaw. It still is in use with my brother whom is now a contractor. So when it came time to buy mine it was not hard to choose. However as I was looking at this smaller saw the tool rep told me that the motor in the larger saw was much better.
Summary: This is one of my favorite miter saws! I have one concern with the product. The digital miter and bevel gauge zeros when shut off. I would prefer that it referenced to 0 degrees unless manually zeroed. I had used this saw while in college. The first major purchase made on the job was 2 Hitachi Sliding Compound Miter Saws. The saws have withstood the wear and tear of high school carpentry and woodworking students.
Summary: This is a great saw for those looking for a mainly stationary saw because it is heavy. It cuts clean and precise. If I could ask for something it would be for a bigger collection bag and the laser could be repositioned to still shine on the wood while the blade is being lowered. I am not a professional wood worker but I take great pride in the work I do and this saw was a great investment.
Summary: This saw is a huge improvement over my previous one. It appears to be made with precision and the laser guide is very helpful. It is light enough to move easily. The dust collection system using just the bag does not seem to collect much dust but I have not used it with a vacuum system. The 8 1/2 inch blades are somewhat difficult to find.
