Summary: Very good at doing what it's designed to do. Plenty strong, one battery adequate for most jobs and having an extra battery means I can replace the battery with a freshly charged one and keep going. I needed this for outdoor work that was too far away to run an extension cord for my corded reciprocating saw.
Perfect addition to any Dewalt drill owners toolbag

Summary: This is a spectacular tool for tree trimming, as well as any small chore you don't need/want to brake out the circular saw for. It's the perfect addition to any homeowner who already owns a dewalt drill with batteries and charger.. Note: This tool will accept both the older style and new style batteries., the box shows the logo for the new style batteries, but the 'instruction sheet' states both battery types will work.
Summary: I love this saw! I bought it because I was tearing down a 30' long and 20' tall wall in my garage. It is drywall and this saw ripped right through everything I asked it to . . . . . drywall, studs, nails, etc. I bought this particular one because I already have several DEWALT 18 volt tools and it has worked perfectly. I also use it to prune trees in the yard and woods around my 8 acres, so it works for a variety of things and I love it.
Summary: Like the drill driver from the same era, the trigger dies after 18 months or so, a new trigger costs not much less than the whole thing and it's the only one that works with your XRP batteries, so you just have to grin & bear it.
Summary: I received my saw before I knew it. It was exactly what I ordered in perfect condition. The saw is solid as most Dewalt tools. Have used it to demo the foyer in my house. The weight could cause a bit of arm fatigue if you're not used accustomed to using a reciprocating saw or if you're a bit on the weaker side. Even just holding the saw not in use, you notice the weight. It is heavier than my 20yr old corded Craftsman.
Summary: First off - put the battery in the charger for a day before use. This ensures that the battery is primed and ready to go because this unit will suck the life out of it very quickly if is not a fully charged battery. My unit was shipped with battery installed and lasted about 5 minutes. Luckily, I had other 18v batteries for my Dewalt 18v drill and they got me through the first job.
Summary: I bought this to use at a location without access to power and was not disappointed in the performancel. Battery life was good and the one hour recharge is very acceptable. The quick change blade feature is fantastic! I may never used my old reciprocating 110v saw again!
