Summary: This is a great tool. I cut out my living room floor and sub floor and replaced all the floor joist. Dug out 6000 pounds of dirt so I could actually call it a crawl space, put in 4000 pounds of concrete for a footing for the concrete blocks to hold the joist, replaced the headers for the joist to nail to that had termite damage.
Summary: Fantastic saw. I'm working on removing an old kitchen floor and the particle board underlayment ran under the cabinets. I used this saw to flush cut the particle board even with the cabinets - even under the toe kick (The saw just fits - at least with the toe kick I am working on). I am sure that I will find other uses for the saw but its performance on this one job is more that enough to justify the purchase.
Summary: We are doing a major renovation of laying hardwood throughout the house and replacing the carpet. Accessing the tools required to do the job properly we decided on using this Bosch to undercut all the door jambs and then after removing all the molding we also used this saw to undercut the drywall to add an extra 5/8" expansion space. I wasn't sure at first since the price was so reasonable compared to other saws but this was a great decision that saved us a bit of money.
Summary: They had these on sale for a bargain price, plus had the required blades on sale as an add on for a bargain price so I bought the tool and all the blades I could get my hands on. I bought other stuff I probably did not even need, lol, just to get more of those required blades at the bargain add on price. I now have lots of them and people may be getting odd presents, consisting of all that other stuff I bought. Hey, a win win, no?
Summary: Works great. I used it to cut back a bunch of pressure treated 5/4 decking to provide drainage between deck and house. I wanted to cut back only a little so trim could cover the gap. Tried sawzall but was dinging the house repeatedly with blade and cut was beveled because saw body prevented saw from getting close to wall. Tried oscillating tool but was going through blades like crazy and very slow.
Summary: This is a well-made tool. To put the "controversy" about the overly aggressive power to bed, let me reassure you that this tool is VARIABLE speed. The speed adjustment is at the rear of the tool, very visible, and easy to use. The slowest speed is pretty gentle and should easily let anyone start a cut to see if they are lined up properly. I doubt that the complaints about the aggressive power came from someone who has actually held the tool in their hands.
Summary: Likes: Light Weight, Powerful, easily adjustable Dislikes: On / Off Slider a little difficult to maneuver. Tool worked fabulous, and made quick work of all the door jams I needed to cut out for my laminate installation. Even used it to trim a tricky laminate board at an awkward angle, which it handled with ease! Blade easily flips around from side to side to facilitate easy cutting no matter where your starting from.
Summary: Got this tool for cutting door jambs before installing hardwood flooring. Was going to start tomorrow, but couldn't wait once I opened the tool. Tool comes set at slowest speed. Once I realized it wasn't going to bite my fingers off, I set it to a higher speed. Cut through that jamb like a hot knife through butter. ( now only 21 more to go) Nice clean cut. Less dust than with a circular jamb saw. (Way less price too.) Way, way, way better than an oscillating tool.
The perfect tool for installing laminate flooring. I can't believe how much time and money I have saved with it.

Summary: I started installing a new laminate floor in my home last year and I couldn't believe how much of a headache it was cutting the door jambs so the floor would go under them. I purchased another electric tool for this purpose, the kind that vibrates the blade but this was a total waste. I have solid oak, 120 year wood throughout my home. This is my third Bosch tool and WOW, this really cut the oak with no problem. The learning curve is minimal with this saw.
Summary: This saw can be a bit of a handful when free cutting and won't do everything you wish it could do but it is a life (and huge time) saver when there is a job it is suitable for. Be cautious around the exposed teeth (no guard). So far, so good.
