  • Summary: Perfect little sander. Works great with the Bosch 6 hole hook and loop sanding discs. The usual, excellent Makita quality.

Very good Sander

Oncle Pete, Amazon
4 October 2013
  • Summary: Well I had a Ridgid random sander for about 9 years. It is now broken and if you read all the review for the Ridgid, they are right. It is noisy, for the dust it is so, so, for the performance, was ok before the bearing seize.

Unbelievably good

R. Paganuzzi "Delmo", Amazon
30 July 2012
  • Summary: I am a furniture maker, bought this to work on a house restoration project I am working on , this is definitely coming back to the shop for some fine sanding work .This is the best electric orbital sander I've ever used, and I've used quite a few, not to mention air sanders, there may be more...

Makita Bo6030 Random Orbit Variable Speed Sander

Bitterman "Bitterman", Amazon
13 January 2011
  • Summary: Solid performance. My standard issue for years. Even though it has dust holes for its own sanding disks, I use Mirka as they are readily available. I don't know whether the dust holes are better if you use the makita sand disk brand or others, I usually connect the sander to my vacuum and go with...

Great orbital sander

Samuel Livingstone, Amazon
31 December 2010
  • Summary: This sander replaces a 20-year-old 1/2 sheet Craftsman sander. I am pleased with it. It is easy to handle. Does not make swirl marks. Does not do inside corners of drawers or chest. The dust collection is adequate but not great. I would recommend it for reliablity.

Is the Newer Generation Necessary?

Willy Chambers "Willy", Amazon
7 August 2010
  • Summary: I bought the Makita BO6030 6-inch RO sander to augment my Porter-Cable 5-inch RO sander, mostly for table tops and isolated floor-refinishing purposes. That being said, I have also found it useful for veneered plywood cabinet panels, making short work of what the smaller P-C sander is capable of.

Nice tool

Pennsylvania Reader, Amazon
1 June 2008
  • Summary: This is a well-priced, dependable sander. It's not dust-free, but the dust bag reduces the dust substantially and is very easy to get on and off to empty. There's nothing fancy about this tool, but it does a good job and hasn't let me down.
