Summary: Sander did an excellent job of sanding a hardwood floor in a cut up kitchen. Was able to find the leveling shoe for the sander so control was simplified. However balance was good. Had plenty of power and dust collection was excellent. Did hook the dust port outlet directly to a shopvac, but there was almost no dust on any of the work surfaces in the kitchen or on the floor.

Summary: Before using other belt sanders at one set speed, now having a belt sander with a variable speed control, is great when using on different types of materials and different grades of sand paper, only thing I wish it had more weight.
Summary: This is one great belt sander! I have done weeks worth of sanding with it, and it is still going strong! It has a quality design and a strong, reliable build. It also has a wide belt surface, and the variable speed which makes it a good performer all around. I would highly recommend!
Summary: I am a novice with belt sanders and I must say, this is the greatest tool i've purchased. Makes sanding a breeze. I bought it for my outdoor deck and was so impressed at the power and ease of use. The dust bag is definitely flimsy but it does a great job of staying on and keeping things clean. I love this tool and can't say enough good things about it. The other reviews are spot on.

Summary: I have used several different kinds of hand held belt sanders during over the past many years and have worn out several. I believe this is the best one I have every used and recommend it to anyone that needs a very good sander.
Summary: Got this one for the ability to adjust the speed. What I got was exactly what I was expecting. Well built, powerful sander. Still made in Japan. Used it for only about 450 sqf , not a hiccup. If this is your first belt sander, give makita branded belts a try. They might be on a higher price side, but well worth it.
