Summary: Had to sand down some big unevenly-glued blocks of walnut since I don't have a table saw to make large cuts cleanly. The belt sander made quick work of it. I'm very pleased. The dust bag works well and is easy to empty - just slide off the plastic clip and shake out.
It's awesome. It's quiet and the dust collector is great

Summary: I have been a cabinet maker for many years. I have used Porter Cable in the past. Porter Cable is okay but cannot compare to the Makita. It's awesome. It's quiet and the dust collector is great.
Summary: A total piece of junk! Expected something more from Makita, after reviews and given the price. My hubby asked me to order this, and we've tried to send it back, but Amazon says it's too late. Makes disconcerting noises and shows signs of overheating after only about 5 minutes of work.
Excerpt: Pulled it out of the box and smoothed up six 2x4s and six 6x6 posts for staining on an outdoor project. Virtually ran continuously for about an hour and one half. Never missed a lick and ran on edges without jumping or bobbing off. Fine tool.
Pros: Comfortable Handles, Good Balance, Good Belt Tracking, Powerful, Sands Smoothly
