Summary: A heavy duty top value sander with flawless performance. 2 day delivery with Prime and put into immediate use sanding 200 8-foot pressure treated deck boards. I used the factory supplied 80 grit Makita sanding belt and made short work of many deck boards before I got careless and caught a board...

Summary: Makita has a reputation for building commercial grade products for the everyday consumer and this item is no different. After many weeks of hard.all day usage, this sander performs better than anyone could expect at this price point. Get it! Use it hard, and then relax.

Summary: Worked very well, very strong, sanded our entire deck from top to bottom even in the hot sun it held up just fine. Recommend buying high quality sanding belts as this thing has a lot of power and can break the cheap ones at the seams.
Summary: Amazing! I was hoping this sander would do what I was expecting of it and it did. All I could say was DAMN! I was sanding down an oak floor from the 40's with 50 grit. There was paint and plaster to cut through first and when the belt wasn't plugged up it bit hard.
Summary: Excellent tool. Replaced a Craftsman. Much better performance. I like the heavier weight and the rugged feel of this tool. Plus I like the dust collector being on the right side, which is out of my way. Others on the left side are in the way od operation and vision.
Excerpt: My first project with my new Makita belt sander was sanding a 600 sq. ft. subfloor. The floor was rough and uneven and full of drywall blobs/dust. After about two hours, the floor is ready for some small area leveling filler.
Pros: Comfortable Handles, Easy Belt Change, Good Balance, Good Belt Tracking, Powerful, Quiet, Sands Smoothly
Summary: I love this sander. Nothing like a big heavy 4 inch belt sander. I recently had to sand down an old workbench and make it into a nice kitchen island. I had to sand down between 1/8 and 1/4 inch from the entire top. This was the right tool for the job.
Excerpt: Had one for years and it has been used heavily in my cabinet shop. Great service and no issues with it. I am replacing it since the old gal is showing its age in wear and tear. Still functions great, but the cord has been repaired numerous time and the case is chipped and cracked from many falls.
Pros: Comfortable Handles, Easy Belt Change, Good Balance, Good Belt Tracking, Powerful, Sands Smoothly
Summary: If you are looking for a big honkin' belt sander, this is it. I use this sander two ways: (1) freehanding on jobs like sanding my porch floor and (2) laid on its right-hand side on a little homemade base with a fence. With the base, I can do detailed sanding/shaping to lines.
