Summary: This is a great sander, well worth the money to me. I saved thousands of dollars by not getting a new deck so it was also a bargain. I had a 40 year old Sears 3 X 21 inch belt sander that served me well for years, but it started breaking the sanding belts, and drifting the belts sideways a lot, so it was not useful anymore. This sander did not break a single belt, and I wore out several of them with no breakage.
Summary: I purchased this to replace my old Makita 4x24 beltsander that was approximately 20 years old, unfortunately it was dropped and broke into multiple pieces otherwise it still worked fine. This is a great heavy duty beltsander that will last years of heavy use. The only reason I give it four stars is because it's not a variable speed, I know they offer a variable speed model but I wanted the power of eleven amps versus 8.8 the variable speed model has.
Summary: Amazing piece of equipment, I purchased three rigid belt sander, they all went out in less than a month! This one have been a CHAMP, I have used this continuously for 7 hours, no problem. The grips stay nice and cool, and the dust bag does a great job and collecting the dust. I would HIGHLY recommend this tool!
Summary: This is one monster sander. I wouldn't recommend it for sanding vertical surfaces, as you'll have to be an Olympic sander to hold this beast up for more than a few minutes at a time. I used it to refinish an old wood deck. While time consuming, it wasn't hard work, as this sander weighs enough where you only need to guide it rather than push down as well. I've had no problems with it at all. Belts track well and are easy enough to swap out.
Summary: I was impressed with the relative light weight and the lack of noise. It seems to do a good job on dust collection as welll. All in all a big upgrade on my old belt sander that bit the dust. I would buy it again and recommend it to you.
Summary: I purchased this sander to do the finish edging on 800ft.sq. pine floor, it worked great. This is one solid rather heavy machine. Easy to set the belt tracking on coarse and fine grit belts. The two handles make it easy to control the sander. The dust bag tended to get in the way when sanding the floor up against the wall, so i used a shop vac hose to solve the the problem in confined spaces. I especially liked the extra long power cable. Overall a good quality machine.
