Summary: " After a very short time this sander just stopped working. Whilst it was working it sanded fine.. just like I would expect but then it stopped - neither use nor ornament now. Buy a different brand.
Summary: " Sanded down some outdoor furniture. It failed after 6 hours and won't switch on. Up to then it had been OK and done a decent job. But it's not much good if you have to take it back after 2 days. Got a refund and now researching more reliable brands.
Summary: " Purchased this as a replacement to my old Black & Decker which packed up part way through the job. I went fot the dual velcro/clamp version as I thought I'd carry on using ordinary sandpaper sheets. Having tried out the sample velcro units supplied with the kit I don't think I'll be using the clamp method much. Quiet, cleaner (with the microfilter) and efficient - very pleased so far.
Summary: " Used this sander for approx 6 hours of use and the base of the unit became detatched from the top half. It revealed a flimsy mechanism for holding the vibrating part of the unit to the top half that holds the motor. I usually purchase Bosch equipment because of the perceived quality but now I am not so confident having view the internal construction of this particular tool.
Summary: " With the smoking remains of my previous sander (a Black and Decker) lying on the grass, I picked up this new sander. The old one was never as good as this one is. Less vibration, better sanding (how is that possible on the same sanding sheets?). If and when this one fails, then I'll be buying another one ...
Summary: " I wanted a small controllable sander for various floor preparations. This product offerred a good solution at an affordable price. The clamping system for own purchase sanding sheets offers good flexibilty although the dust collector then becomes redundant. Easy to use, comfortable and controllable for the inexperienced user. Very happy with this robust little purchase.
Summary: " This one replaces my 10 year old PSS250 and has a much more robust attachment method for no velcro 1/3 sheets. My old one failed on the faster here as well as the pad fell off and at £25+ for the replacement was time for a new machine. The parts are much cheaper on this one. Smooth, low vibration and man enough for DIY. Light enough for one handed use. Dust collector can be a bit tricky to attach securely.
Summary: " An excellent sander, much easier and more comfortable to use than my 15 year old Bosch sander. Velcro mounting very useful but also conventional fixing essential to keep costs of sheets down. Speed control very effective.

Conclusion: Having needed to do some sanding I searched around for what I thought was the best value although not necessarily the cheapest sander around. The Bosch PEX400 is a great sander. Worked perfectly for what I needed it and I know it will last for many years.
