Sony VPL-VW300

The Sony VPL-VW200 is a mid-range SXRD HD widescreen home theater projector that offers 1080p compatibility and an excellent picture. It provides a native 1920x1080 resolution and offers a brightness of 800 lumens, via a Xenon gas fluorescent lamp. Like some other Sony home theater projectors, this one offers nominally a 35,000:1 contrast ratio. The 1.8x zoom is appreciated for larger rooms. It also takes in a wide range of video standards including PAL, PAL-M, PAL-N, SECAM, PAL 60, NTSC 3.58, and NTSC 4.42. You’ll also find a wide range of video compatibility formats, including 480i, 480p, 576i, 576p, 720p, 18081, and 1080p.

Improvements for Sony don’t come often, but the rumoured Sony VPL-VW300 will have a few of them. Expect Sony to tweak the optical zoom, and add an expansion slot. Although the Sony VPL-VW200 is quiet, look for an even quieter Sony VPL-VW300.
