Summary: Decided to recycle old Linksys WRT54GS2 for more current hardware supposedly compatible with Comcast system ugrades...Big mistake! Not only did this waste my money, but over three days of my time trying to get this ZYXEL router to recognize it's own ZYXEL cable modem plugged into WAN port (purchased several weeks ago). -Never even got to the wireless part- What a poor excuse for "high tech". That old Linksys I bought used for $30 is looking pretty good now.
Summary: This is 3 months old. Had my IP address change because of new modem and this would not recognize it at all. After 3 modem and router and computer restarts and 2 hours total on the phone with their customer service and my internet provider. My internet provider offered more help then their CS did. Followed the reset procedures from ZyXEL web site[their CS didn't suggest this, i did it on my own] and it made my computer crash twice. My computer has NEVER crashed before.
Summary: This router sucks for online gaming. I got it through COX for free, it sucks ass. There is no UPnP installed on the crappy router, which means i am limited to certain online features such as getting into matches with my friends on xbox live! Dont buy this icky router.
Summary: I almost always read reviews before purchasing a product. The reviews on the wap3502v2 were glowing; best thing since sliced bread. No quit the case. The signal was weaker than the cheaper unit I replaced. I would never purchase a ZyXel again. There are much better ways to get a good signal than using an extender and this one is not a good choice.
Summary: I purchased the Zyxel NBG4615 router. I can assure this has not been my first router generally, but it is definitely the last router from Zyxel, and here is why: First, I installed the latest firmware, as recommended by the manufacturer. This router cannot even hold the time settings, after switching it off and on, it is like a time machine, it is back in 1970. Maybe this is meant to indicate the year of its quality standard.
Summary: DO NOT BUY ONE OF THESE. I received mine and had no end of trouble setting it up. Repeated calls to technical support did not resolve the issues and in fact on being told that tech support would call me back same day, 2 days later I had to call them. Rubbish product, rubbish support. I've returned mine. Don't touch it with a bargepole.
Summary: I bought this router, having spent much time searching on the internet for a router which would send wireless through a couple of walls. According to the spec, this looked the business, so I took the chance. What a waste of time - the bottom line is that having spent literally 3 hours trying, I couldn't get wireless to work (it only worked if I ran a cable between my laptop and the router).
