I wanted to it to work very bad because the price was so cheap

Summary: Every time that I order this item, it does not work. Ordered 6 of them. I wanted to it to work very bad because the price was so cheap, but never did any of the units work. I just do not get how this is possible. I now only resell Cisco.
Summary: 240 watts from a box this small needs some forced-air cooling. Some might consider the fan a bit loud - indeed, you probably wouldn't want to install this in a living space. I have mine in a hall closet and the fan noise is barely audible when the closet door is closed.
Pros: Fast. Real powerhouse in the POE department. Fan-cooled power supply is internal, so it uses a real power cord, not a wall wart. Sturdy metal case. Separate indicator lights to show when a POE device is connected to a particular port.
Summary: We have installed this into a large warehouse to handle the access control and camera system. Since this switch has 8 ports, 7 of them will be usable, powered ports, and 1 port will be the uplink. This switch has up to ~35W per port available.
Pros: Lots of power. Powerful fan. Solid build. Able to operate in high temps.
Summary: So far working great, only using 3 ports (2 PoE) but will be using more eventually. Powering APs with these not cameras and have had no problems so far. One of few PoE+ units I could find-eventually will be powering a PoE+ exterior AP with heater.
Summary: Received it in late Feb. 2015. As another reviewer mentioned fan is noisy. And as yet other reviewers mentioned that ports were loose/faulty, so I was afraid to order from warehouse deals. I ordered a new one and tested all of the ports. All are good. Including PoE.
Summary: I bought 2 of these for a new phone system in April. The fans were loud and they have both totally failed already. The switch works well so I replaced the fans myself with quieter ball bearing fans. Better components=better product.
