Summary: Worked flawlessly straight out of the box. MDI-X must have worked somewhere along the line because no crossover cables were required between router and switch. Well built little unit. I chose it becuase it has 8 ports unmanaged rather than others from the cheap name brands that only have 5 ports.
Used for a year or more and quality, speed and price can't be beaten.

Summary: I have used two of unmanaged Xyxel switches now from my router to my tv, PC, media setup for more than a year now and Xyxel products are bullet proof, reliable, easy to use and work from the moment you plug in without any problems.
Summary: Well, this is a pretty unexciting non-managed 8-port Ethernet switch. It works as it should, no problems. I've connected my NAS, wireless router and my home PCs to it. Everything works ok at 1000MBps (router and NAS) or 100 Mbps (computers).
Summary: I wanted to solve the problem with my broadband router not having enough ports or having gigabit capability. I needed better performance from my NAS drives and was only getting 100mb/s from the BT Home Hub.
Summary: Bought this to replace an old Netgear 4-port 10/100 switch. The Netgear was on my AV rack providing a network connection to an AV amp, BluRay player, Squeezebox Touch and media streamer. All the ports were used so I bought the Zyxel thinking ahead that I might need more ports.
