Summary: It is a managed switch. It definitely is not a quality switch. Interface for configuration is HORRIBLE. Bandwidth management is LOW QUALITY... I would NOT recommend this switch. I kept it because at the time I needed a switch, and just never got around to returning it...
Had high hopes for Zyxel but was disappointed - defective
20 June 2012
Summary: In reading the other reviews I took a gamble and gave this unit a try. I have used smaller 5 port gigabit Zyxel switches in the past and loved them but this unit disappointed and it was defective on day one. Out of the box the unit kept dropping connections at random on different ports.
Summary: when it boots up it shows all of your active ports for about 10 seconds and then turns off again to POST........i first thought it was broken but it just has quirky startup behavior
Pros: This is my first experience with a switch this feature-filled and all i can say is wow. It gets along with my windows server 2008 system and as far as i can tell all the other systems on the network work with it. I have yet to test all the features of it, but i am happy so far. It also fits into ...
Cons: when there is a fan port in the back it might do the swtich well to have a fan there
Summary: I had to set up about 5 different VLANs in our company in 2 different buildings and on a tight budged (big surprise there). I bought 2 Zyxel es2024 units and use the "Link Aggregation" feature to setup 4 ports on each switch as the trunk between the 2 buildings, and it works great!
Summary: This showed up, I got the IP address changed on it, then configured the syslog options. The switch locked up and never came back. Power up reset options appear to be limited to uploading a factory default config file you can't download off the web site via XMODEM.
