Summary: I bought this knowing that ZyXEL was a tried and tested make and I have not been disappointed. It was taken straight out of the box, plugged in (using the UK plug adapter supplied) and I have 7 more ports available in the office - it was as simple as that. Great peace of kit.
Summary: Right what can I say about this ZyXEL Dimension ES108A 8 x 10/100 Micro Switch with QOS apart from its great. I’ve got 3 of these in total round my home and they do a great job. If you like your network wired rather than wireless this is just what you need. Take it out of the box follow the instructions and your network is up and running straight away.
Summary: Great little product, but let down by a 2 pin European power supply. Packetwalk provided a 2 pin to 3 pin connector but you end up with a very bulky power solution which is as big as the switch itself, and not very helpful in a crowded space. Very disapointed as I bought one last year with a UK power supply and was so impressed with it's compact nature and tidy finish I thought I would stock up with a couple more.
Summary: 8 auto sensing 10/100Mbs ports in a compact steel box with the usual power and port status LED indicators on the front. I have used it to link a Sony Blu-Ray player, Humax Satellite box and PS2 to an ADSL Router leaving 4 ports free for 'future expansion' (unfortunately the Samsung TV doesn't have an Ethernet port).
Summary: This, like all Zyxel home electronics, is an excellent product. Basically it does what it says on the tin - 8 port 10/100Mbps autosensing Ethernet. Unlike some home Ethernet switches, these ports are not oversubscribed, which means you get the full 100Mbps per port. There are also 3 ports which offer "QoS", presumably taking priority over the other 5 ports in the event of congestion.
