Good but not Great

Tyler McQueen, Amazon
9 February 2015
  • Summary: Its easy enough to get up and running. Turning on some of the other features like sharing files over Wifi took a while to figure out though, and I couldn't find any documentation online. Everything I could find online was for the N900 model. It also hasn't been as fast I'd expect.

Nice router if you don't need parental control time limit

Walid Hamdan, Amazon
17 September 2014
  • Summary: This Router works good, But Parental control time limit does not. If you don't need to use the time limit for your kids, Then it works fine. The time limit will not let you log in when it is off, but it will not log you off if you are already logged in even if you pass the time scheduled to shut...

I like it - in theory.

Mat Huey, Amazon
19 June 2014
  • Summary: I'm sure this is a good router... It's just that I have yet to be able to get it to work for what I wanted it to work for. I want to be able to bridge my U-Verse Motorola modem and use this as the router but I just couldn't get it to work (and I followed online instructions for bridging the...

Probably the best router for the price.

Ryan G. "-RG", Amazon
21 May 2014
  • Summary: **I bought this from a 3rd party and the warranty expired after just 3 months. I suggest you only buy directly from Amazon.** I had this router for 4 months then it ultimately had intermittent problems. Every hour and a half the DNS server would stop working, and have the be rebooted.

Drops wireless connetction

gohan2021, Amazon
30 April 2014
  • Summary: I went from a single band N gigabite wired router. This one worked ok for wirless connection but man did it lag on wired. I missed the return date so I was not able to send this back. It works ok and I think for the price I shouldn't have expected a lot out of it.

Western Digital My Net N600 Dual Band Router

Michael R., Newegg
27 November 2012
  • Summary: Though the router remained rock steady for over a week of testing that my family put it through, except for the lagging streaming of Netflix due to range issues, I was more than happy to go back to my favorite router.
  • Pros: Very attractive looking router with good box presentation. Included CD has setup program and manual. Setup was easy using the included CD, or setting up manually using the router's IP address. Included firmware appears to work well with the unit, as it experienced no severe hardware hiccups in th...
  • Cons: NO GIGABYTE LAN PORTS. NO DD-WRT firmware support. Transferring large files across my network was slower than molasses compared to the four other routers I have (all Wireless N, some dual channel, some not, but all had gigabyte lan ports). The reset button is on the bottom of the unit which isn't...

Good value but so-so

Ari A., Newegg
30 October 2012
  • Summary: Unless the slow 2.4GHz transmission speed was just a fluke, it seems there is a significant powerissue with this router. It does, however, offer a lot "on paper" for the price, including dual-band functionality, a USB port, and a very user-friendly firmware.
  • Pros: I really wanted to like this router - it has so much going for it. It's almost impossible to find dual-band routers available in this price range, and it's equally difficult to find a router with a USB port in this price range, and yet here you get both for a very fair price. Another great featur...
  • Cons: Simply put, the transmitting power of this router is below average. Using multiple clients, I found that the wireless speed through two walls on the 2.4GHz band was very low, between 3.5 and 7 mbps, translating to a maximum of just under 1MB/s, compared to 10-20 mbps using various other 300n rout...
