Excerpt: There are no meaningful instructions to unlock this router; I couldn't get it to communicate with my devices. My notebook saw the signal but it was locked. I needed to call a toll-free number in India that I found on the internet. We went endlessly in circles trying to reset the router, unplugging it, typing generic passwords but nothing worked.
Pros: Fast Connection Speed, Reliable connection, Secure Connection
TRENDnet 300Mbps Wireless N Home Router (TEW-731BR)

Summary: Two defective units in a row. I returned them both. they both worked about a week needing frequent reboots until they just stopped working. The behaved almost the same as each other. The remained powered but but toward the end you had to unplug the WAN port power recycle the unit before it work start passing data again. The wireless would stop working first before the wired part. I have the newest firmware which made no difference.
Summary: I don't live in a very big house and my wireless signal was super weak with this router. You have to be in the same room with this thing for it work worth a crap. If you lived in a very small apartment this might be ok with you.
Summary: I received the item and had problems right away with it but, didn't know whether or not it was the router or the TV. I had a technician check things out and it was the router. The time limit to return it to Amazon was too late and the hassle to return it to the manufacturer for warranty, for what I paid for it, I just ordered a better one.
Summary: When it comes to upgrading technology, I like to pay a careful cost-benefit analysis and don't simply run after the shiniest new thing. That is why when it came time for me to upgrade my b/g router, I did not immediately go for the ac routers as good ones are really expensive these days and I don't see a reason to use that much bandwidth at my home (your case might be different). I finally settled on a b/g/n router and then started looking at prices.
Summary: I bought it to replace a wireless router that caused many issues watching Netflix and Amazon on Demand via a Roku box. This device has been installed for a couple of months and it has not crashed, locked up or lost signal. Netflix / Amazon are smooth as can be, with no freezing or buffering. FYI: Only one wall / 20 Feet between the router and the Roku.
I LIKE wired systems and never had a wireless router

Summary: I LIKE wired systems and never had a wireless router.. I was given a TABLET and had to rethink .. I got this Trendnet wireless router because of the good reviews and the price.. Not necessarily in that order. I'm 70 and the prospect of hooking this up had me a bit (a LOT) nervous.. after all I had to piggyback it into my system as I am not giving up my wires.. Sooooo, after about 4 minutes to look at the directions and in another five minutes I was up and running..
