Summary: We needed a wireless router for our Xbox and Wii to work Netflix. So far the signal has worked great for these two. I tried to use the wifi for my Samsung Galaxy and it says the signal is weak. But for the reasons I bought this, it works just fine.
Summary: If you read on the web, some claim that supporting the slower b lowers the throughput. There is a dialog on the subject on superuser.com I measured the throughput using speedtest.net.
Pros: Cheap. Easy to set up. Adequate performance once I figured out that running in b/g/n compatibility mode was slowing it down.
Cons: Using a Dell Precision M4700 with the TEW-711BR configured for b/g/n compatibility, the throughput was in the 1-5 mbps range. Surprisingly, the Properties tab on the M4700 WiFi indicated a link speed 72 mpbs. That was clearly a hypothetical number based on the mode. Setting it to g mode brought t...
Cons: pain in the nuts setup, port forwarding is a nightmare. not your most easily customize able router. also when i have about 4-5 pc's connected i either need to reset the router when the 4th+ connects or suffer unuseable latency. not what i wanted.
Summary: If you do not mind the hassle it is probably oik for a laptop wireless source.
Pros: It worked well with my lap tops after figuring out pass code
Cons: It was not a plug and play like my link sys. I had to hook lap top up to start it working and then put serial number of router in each machine I got on Internet with wirelessly. Both laptops worked fine after entering this number off of the bottom of the router. However I use wireless modems with...

Summary: As I am no techno wizard I found the set up instructions to be poor. I also have problems fairly regularly when my kindle or laptop loses the signal and I have to re-boot the router. It does the job but not particularly well.
