Nothing but trouble from the beginning

Sidney F., Newegg
23 December 2014
  • Pros: The price seemed good.
  • Cons: This product had been nothing but trouble from the beginning I have not been able to get this properly configured on the 5 GHz let alone the 2Ghz signal. I do not know what it is about this device but by default it blocks all gaming sites wired and wireless. I am not a big complainer but this was not a very good product please get better documentation for this product and be weary that the features do not work properly. I took this to school one day to see if I could ...

Trendnet TEW-692GR Really Sucks!

Ade M., Newegg
20 December 2014
  • Summary: Bought this router (TEW-692GR) to replace an old Linksys one thinking that I was upgrading from G to N. My old G-Linksys never had to be re-booted, it just worked, period. But this Trendnet router really sucks, it loses connection on the 5GHz band too often, sometimes several times within an hour! Basically, I have abandoned the 5GHz band altogether.
  • Pros: 2.4 GHz band stays on longer than the 5 GHz one. Looks good with the 3-antennae.
  • Cons: 5 GHz band is too unstable, rendering it useless. Light color makes no sense. Can't rely on the lights to monitor the health. They stay on whether the router is up or not. Lights too bright & wide

Questionable product

William R., Newegg
8 October 2014
  • Summary: Contacted TrendNet regarding second router and received complete run around. I was lied to twice - they do not have 24 hr support as advertised. If after hours, you will be told all techs are busy and they will call you within an hour. NO CALL EVER COMES. When you call in during business hours, no case number, ticket info - tech did not have any info stating a return call was scheduled. Unable to speak to supervisor.
  • Pros: Low price with lots of advertised capabilities, cool look.
  • Cons: We purchased 2 routers, one set for awhile. First one worked well, however very slow when logged into the router administration. Second one unable to update firmware

Let down

Deep P., Newegg
20 September 2014
  • Pros: Price.
  • Cons: Poor range. 2 radios but neither makes it as far as the older Belkin 300 I was hoping to replace. Took several tries to get it setup and working with both radios working. Prior Trendnet routers have performed much better. This one will be resold.

Not stable at all

Mason C., Newegg
27 July 2014
  • Summary: setup is extremely easy, when connecting 2 devices (one wifi and one through ethernet) to run speedtest.net simutanesly, the 2.4Ghz band wifi crashed. Need to reboot the router. Very unstable. 5GHz is good, no crash. I then only connected several devices, xbox, tablet, cell phone and pc, It crashes the 2.4GHz band again. It is basically not usable so I have to return it. I gave 2 stars for the Pros.
  • Pros: Slick design, great price, easy setup
  • Cons: 2.4GHz band crashed constantly, wifi coverage range small or weak signal

Works well when it works

Stephen L., Newegg
27 May 2014
  • Summary: My family has several laptops as well as a blue-ray player that can stream video and I was hoping on getting a relatively cheap router that would support several devices but this router is not meeting that goal.
  • Pros: This router was easy to set up the web interface was easy to understand and navigate. The speeds is much better that my old Linksys WRT-110.
  • Cons: I am having a continuous problem with short network interruptions. The usually only last a few seconds at the most but sometimes they last long enough that I have to power cycle the router and my cable modem. These are occurring several times an hour and occassionally kick one of the computers off the network. I updated the firmware and their was a definite improvement, mainly in how often I had to do a power cycle. Even after the firmware update I am still encounteri...

No Range, and poor mounting options.

Dtro "Damon", Amazon
24 April 2014
  • Summary: Well, seems very reliable and stable , no dropouts. But the WiFi range is no better then the N Speed model from trendnet it just replaced. Very disappointed in the range. The stand is floppy and weak, and no wall or table mounted screw locations are present for a sturdy mount. But seems no faster or any better speed wise then the 300 mbps N Speed model.

Dead, can't even factory reset.

Marek L., Newegg
2 February 2014
  • Summary: Have to go buy a new router that will actually work.
  • Pros: Easy set up. When it worked it was fast.
  • Cons: One day it just up and quit letting anything connect to it. Even can't connect to it use a PC and a ethernet cable. Tried doing a factory reset and even that diesnt work because it doesn't do no matter how long you hold the reset button.

Not an upgrade. weak & slow

Michael D., Newegg
21 January 2014
  • Summary: If I can't get it to run quicker, I may just go back to my old netgear and not bother to buy Trendnet again. Guess you get what you pay for (other than my $20 Netgear).
  • Pros: Inexpensive N900 router, got it for under $50.
  • Cons: Weak signal and slow on both bands. Slower than my old Lynsys wrt54 and netgear n150 using the same speed test. Had trouble updating the firmware.

Cheap product

Paul M., Newegg
13 February 2013
  • Summary: I would not recommend this product to anyone looking for a stable wireless connection.
  • Pros: Supports WPA2 Enterprise.
  • Cons: Does not come close to achieving 450mb. Constantly dropped wireless clients.
