Summary: Bought for son's apartment to replace an old G Linksys router. Placement was a challenge as only usable location was bottom shelf of a book case. I need to experiment remotely trying to get better coverage in apartment. Product was very easy to set-up and configure.
Summary: The unit is a good router, however, the unit had to have the software updated to get it to function...... although new, the unit was over a year and a half old.... (I spent over an hour talking to a Trendnet technician in India before the unit functioned properly!)
Summary: I wasn't sure if I was going to like an N router. I already own some of this manufacturers hardware. While researching the varied routers out there I found that most are misleading & don't really inform the public what they're really getting in through-put to the network.
Summary: over all 3 to 4 eggs for performance and 5 eggs on price and condition of this used product.
Pros: 8 by 1 over wifi - not bad! Works so far, better than earlier model and this one is a refurb gen v1. I would recommend for the price alone! better performing than most commodity routers except airport that you will encounter at big box stores. good inexpensive router back up also for when your ol...
Cons: cheap ethernet ports, lots of play - be careful when attaching 4 ethernet cables. Wifi Range is average to acceptable.
Summary: My Belkin router stopped working so I had to replace it - I just happened to find this router on a daily deal for only $35 so I picked one up. It seems to fuction better than my old Belkin by having a higher transfer rate.
Cons: The LAN LEDs. They are two color: orange or green depending on connection speed. No documentation to say what each color means. You get to figure out that orange is a 1 GB/s connection and green is not. Also, the LAN LEDs do not match the LAN ports on the back of the router. The LAN LEDs are numb...
Pros: Works pretty well ONCE YOU FLASH THE FIRMWARE. I was ready to send it back; driving me crazy with the "Internet is now connected" and the "this page can not be displayed" messages. Regard this router as including a free educational experience.
Cons: All and all, nothing to really complain about. We'll see how long it holds up.
