Over 3 years and still doing its job.

John H., Newegg
6 March 2016
  • Summary: Does what you'd want it to, just works.
  • Pros: Bought 9/12, and still going strong. Does what it's supposed to, sits in the background invisibly unless you need another device attached to it. No hit on speeds, I'm on gigabit fiber, and speed tests show over 950Mbit up and down passing through this switch.

Nifty Switch

Dan S., Newegg
19 December 2015
  • Summary: I've been using this unit for the past 9 months or so. I needed it because my current network setup has a router with limited ports. So I have all my equipment plug into the switch, and have the switch plugged into the router.
  • Pros: - Nice chassis. - Good performance from what I can tell. - Simple & effective as long as you know what you're doing when building a network.
  • Cons: None at this time.

Good network hub

JL, Amazon
11 August 2015
  • Summary: The unit can not be easier to set up. Simply plug in an ethernet cable from the outlet/router/modem to ANY of the ports on the back, then plug in all the other ethernet cables to your devices that you want to connect. Plug in the power cord, and off you go!

Cheap, fast, and reliable.

James L, Amazon
24 July 2015
  • Summary: This switch is low cost and no frills, but still does it's job very well. I've had this at the center of my home entertainment system running 24/7 for well over a year and it's had no issues at all.

Good, simple network appliance

Anonymous, Newegg
19 July 2015
  • Summary: Not much to say here. Works, seems to do its job well. Looks like a total of 2gbit of throughput across the switch. Tested with 4K/9K frames and it worked just fine.
  • Pros: - Small form factor - Lights not overly bright - Doesn't seem to generate any heat at all
  • Cons: -Awkward to wall mount, because the ports aren't labeled on the top and bottom, so depending on how you mount it, it may be difficult to see which port you're working with.

User Review

Jonathan K., Newegg
9 June 2015
  • Pros: Cheap full gig switch. Running with no issues for ~2 years.
  • Cons: Wish it was managed too. Some people have complained about it failing, probably has cheapo capacitors that fail.

TEG=-S80g Not so good

Susan V., Newegg
27 May 2015
  • Pros: When it worked, it worked great.
  • Cons: Upgraded my network recently and decided to move the switch to a new location. When I plugged it in after moving it, the unit was dead. I thought it might be the power strip so I plugged it in directly to the wall. Still no power. I then read the reviews on Newegg and saw I had lots of company. I...

Please return to the old design with speed indication and mounting holes

Anonymous, Newegg
30 April 2015
  • Summary: I have deployed just under 500 of these (the older design) in residential apartments and condos. When the time came for the next building after construction was completed, I immediately went and purchased another 155 of these thinking they were the same model (because the model number was in fact...
  • Pros: great switches, if you can find the older design with mounting holes and leds that indicate the 10/100/1000 connection speed.
  • Cons: they changed the design, removing the mounting holes and the speed indicating leds AND KEPT THE SAME MODEL NUMBER!
