Excerpt: Performs well as a switch - no complaints there. Easy to connect - worked as soon as the power was applied. I do not use this as a table-top - so lack of mounting brackets kept me from rating this 5 stars.
Excerpt: .....The switch is great. No fan, well made, very low power, and it only gets mildly warm when fully loaded. unlike my Trendnet PoE Ethernet switch - which is also very good the GREENnet switch has a built in power supply.
Pros: It's a gigabit switch, does what it's supposed to do for a good price.
Cons: Get what you pay for, I guess. Switch ports started failing a few months after deployment. Contacted Trendnet support, within warranty period. We have to pay to ship their faulty product back to them, and they want original packaging for an unmanaged switch installed several months prior. RMA process is a hassle. Not the treatment I'm used to from using higher end gear, but again, I guess you get what you pay for.
Excerpt: Simple switch to set up, super quiet and smaller than the old 10/100 we replaced it with. The lights on the front panel show what ports are connected at 100 or 1000mbps for easy troubleshooting. If I need to replace any other hubs or 100Mb switches, this is the one I'm going with.
Summary: I bought them by searching for "TRENDnet ETH-11MK Rack Mount Kit for TEG-S16Dg and TEG-S24Dg".
Pros: Bought the switch for use in our office. Mounted the switch to our rack using mounting brackets (sold separately) and plugged in the cables. Everything worked at first start and has been working with no problems for about 4 months now.
Cons: Be aware that although the switch is listed as rackmountable, Netgear DOES NOT include the rack mounting brackets with the switch.
Excerpt: I'm using this as the main switch in a home network, replacing a switch (different manufacturer) that died. As you'd expect with a non-managed switch, installation was simple, and everything is working fine after the first week.

Although I haven't needed to use it, I appreciate the fact that this unit comes with a physical power on-off switch. The unit it replaces had no power switch, and to restart, I had to disconnect the power cord, then reconnect it.
Excerpt: Using it in my home network and lab environment. Having a single switch with this many interfaces is much nicer than having several smaller switches strung together. Have not had any issues with it so far.

My only wishes was that it had some level of functionality for VLAN tagging, trunking, etc., but for what I'm using it for it will do the job. It also did not come with rack-mount equipment...
Excerpt: I upgraded my home network from 100mbs to 1000bps using this switch. This gave the entire network a big improvement, all of our computers can now talk to the server at 1Gbs.
No lags noticed, great performance and speedy file transfers.
Wish there was an option for the rack mount brackets, I put it on top of the 100mbs switch for now, but need those brackets since the switch is narrower then a standard rack mount switch.
Pros: Easy To Set Up, Fast, Great performance, Reliable
