Summary: An unmanaged switch, so it just works. Tested all ports at GIG, no issues. (Got it on sale for $4 more than the 16-port version I needed and wanted.) Green Switch. Metal construction. Stays Cool!
Summary: I had a perfectly good functioning 24port GIGA switch by linksys. THE ONLY reason why I replaced it is so that darn fan wouldn't be running 24/7. This one is great, no fan, quiet, and works as expected.
Summary: I've had this in my home for 2 months now and it's worked perfectly. I used this to wire up ports in 3 rooms of my house. Even with the long runs, the speeds are excellent. I am making out at about 75 MB/sec transfer speeds. That is about the upper limit of the read speed of the drives in the machines I am using, so it's basically like having local access to the media server from all the computers in my house.
Summary: First, as the Product Title says, this is a DESKTOP switch. Fortunately, those who want a rack-mount version can purchase ears for it without burdening desktop users with the cost. This switch replaced a 12-year old 16 port gigabit switch that was blown away during the power failures/recoveries after Hurricane Sandy. I don't have tech data for you, but everything reports gigabit speeds, and all computers, telephones, and devices work the way they did before the storm.
Summary: I built my house four years ago and wired every room. Before purchasing this I used three 8 port hubs to support my ever increasing number of internet enabled devices. This device enabled me to drastically clean up my wiring closet, while improving the speed of several of my higher end devices. I have experienced no issues with this hardware since purchasing several months ago.
