Summary: a great inexpensive managed gig-switch that rack-mounts. this is perfect for the more robust home network, or for a small company. The trunking ability is very nice at one house it is quite spread out, with considerable streaming etc... we have one a the head-end rack and one at the secondary rack with 4-ports trunked between them. have not seen any slow down. fairly easy setup. make sure to check the manual as a couple features are only avail.
Pros: good flexibility with setup trunking pretty solid piece
Cons: some features not able to run at same time as other features
Summary: I bought three of these switches for our network hub. They are fantastic, except for one small nit - they're all set to an IP address that interferes with our router. Would have been better if they had set the switch to get an IP address using DHCP. Other than that, I love how reliable and fast robust they've been, and the GBIC ports have come in handy.
Summary: I purchased one of these over a year ago, and it has turned out well. I plugged it in and it worked (as an upgrade from an unmanaged SMC 10/100 * 16 port switch). I wanted to change some settings; after a few experiments I had it tweaked the way I wanted. After that, it has only gone down or restarted when power was out.
